Hey. Got a question for all of the tech freaks out there. I know there's plenty of you around.

[It isn't the most formal way to start a message, never mind a request - but even so, there's a briskness to his voice that sounds almost business-like.]

Let's say I want to keep an eye on the names that show up on this thing [a couple of relatively loud taps] along with the new people. Is there a way I can set it up so it... [He hesitates for a fraction of a second, but carries on as if he hadn't.] lets me know somehow when a specific name gets added to it? Or any name, that works too. Just out of interest.

Details would help, but a straight yes or no's better than nothing. I'm not exactly expecting any hand-holding here.

[ a curious, slightly embarrassed headtilt, as if all too aware that he's being just a bit nosy. the movement sets the little silver charms hanging from his antlers chiming. ]

Are you-- looking for someone in particular? [ a pause, then his expression shifts into one of faint distress. ] I'm-- I'm so sorry, that really was awfully nosy, wasn't it? You don't have to answer! [ faintly panicked hand-flap! ]

[He deliberately refrains from switching so that the - guy? girl?... - can't see him rolling his eyes.]

Just interested, like I said. Doesn't seem like a weird question to me.

It's just-- [ he pushes his fingers together slightly, glancing down at them, brows drawing together. ] It just seemed otherwise, I suppose. It's a smart thing to ask, though. Um, since.. since most of us have loved ones that could be brought here, I mean.

You'd want to bring them here? [He laughs, not completely unkindly.] I bet they'd appreciate it, too. Nah, I just think something like this could be useful, that's all. If it's possible. You know, since apparently having any normal-looking phones around here is too much to ask.

Well.. it might actually be a nice break for my brother and my friends. [ an embarrassed fidget. ] At least here we're not hunted, and-- no one cares about me being a half-breed. [ he gives a shy glance back up to the feed, shrugging slightly. ] It's-- It's not a good situation here, but..

[ he trails off, then startles into a small smile. ] I have to admit, this is a little too much technology for my tastes.

Right... [He sounds a touch uneasier than before.] Well, anyway, technology's not the problem. Technology that doesn't come with schematics is.

[ a curious blink, leaning in slightly. ]

.. I suppose it's not terribly helpful to just suggest fiddling around with it. I imagine you've done that already. [ he pushes a few strands of hair back behind an ear. ] I'm really sorry, I-- I wish I could help, but I didn't even have a cellphone back home.

That would take some considerable time to come up with the app with the limited amount of technology on hand at the moment. First of all, are you looking at the name popping up upon arrival or is there something more specific you had in mind?

[Lee himself never thought of creating something like that on a programming scale. He has enough on his plate as it stands.]

[But after a moment or two, he just lets out a small, irritable sigh.] Whatever. It's fine. Don't worry about it. The question's meant for the nerds out there, anyway.

It's a-- [ oh darn. ] It's a little.. phone. [ he outlines a rough shape/size of one in the air with his index finger. ] It's wireless, a bit like these. Simpler to operate, though, I think. Mostly.

Nothing more specific than what I said. It's just an idea. So that's a yes to it being possible, right?

It's possible. Give me about a week or two to come up with the program. It does seem interesting and I am interested. I'll give you a call when I am finished.

[If he could do it, that would open up a whole new set of doors that he can't open just yet.]

[He still sounds a little disconcerted about something...]

[He smiles. He likes having something to do to break up what he's currently doing to keep his mind fresh.]

There is none on your part. It's not charity, if that's what you're thinking. Let's just say if I can manage it, I'll have a little more insight into something greater.

[Which is something that can seem dubious, but there's a reason behind it.]
