[ oui yes we did he is a little less buoyant, not really any more despairing - he's if anything more resigned to this place the second time - but he's missing someone. and he was missing her before but doing a good job not letting it hit the surface too often. this time however, same person, her loss means a lot more to him, at least on some level. it always meant a lot. but, he's having a harder time keeping it tamped down from someone like her. he won't look any different, but he'll have a different sense or feel to him. beyond that he's JUST got back so he's stressed right now but not too bad. ]

[ the stress is the first thing to really come across, but it's still unmistakably Tony, so that's good. no imposters or whatever. her face is very blandly innocent as she looks at him. ]

And yes, one of those new project is already back in his hands when she points that out, and he tilts his head a bit in acknowledgement. ] New ideas, implementing them on some of the other projects that were in the running, over lap, improvement. She glances at it, considers the shape of the missing person in his head and then quietly chooses to keep that to herself. There wouldn't be any particularly good explanation for saying 'sorry you had to leave people behind at home'. At least not that specifically. ] It sucks they let you go home and then dragged you back anyways. [ Though she'd be glad, herself, probably. She thinks. ] About a week, yeah. And not particularly. I went exploring mostly.

[ Probably for the best - that would flip him out a little bit, considering he's been gone for a year and doesn't remember the full on extent of whatever he learned about her abilities during that one single chat they had about them that one time. A year ago. He'd just shut the topic of conversation down and move on anyway. Sort of like he does to that one, where he shrugs a bit, one shoulder moving up in a mockery of actual emoting. What can he do about it? And besides, he doesn't want to be without Pepper but it's not like he would be so callous as to actually wish she were stuck here with him. ] Exploring? Where?

[ Yeah, pretty understandable. Really, the whole empathy thing isn't a great conversation starter at the best of times, and she'd rather not accidentally mess up whatever quasi-friendship can work together well thing they're doing. Which would also be why she is more than okay with him moving on past that. She's extended her sympathies, emotions can now be done with. ] The city, mostly. There's a lot of empty space on the outskirts, ruins and all that. It's interesting.
