[Lee looks at the screen and he's certainly not amused, or it appears that way. There isn't much he can really do at this point. He did have a little interesting run-in at the bank today. Imagine his surprise but he's not saying anything in regards to it for the time being. What an interesting discovery that everything he once had in his accounts before transferred in this hell hole. That's one more nail in the coffin that doesn't set too well for him even if he could use the money.]

Huh, I've had one of the strangest conversations today. I think the poor bank teller had a heart attack, or she suddenly received a severe case of numb tongue. I had a good laugh after she fainted.

[Truth be told, he would have too if he didn't know any better.]

Ah, that's right. I have something to say. Vin, the order you requested? I have all of it. Even the rare ones, and no, I didn't have a problem this time.

[It's going to be a slow build and without his adoptive family getting in the way, he's going to start rebuilding his empire real soon.]

[Yep, he's changing the subject.]

[The quick response does take him aback some.]

That's too bad. I'll have to keep my eyes and ears open myself.

[He feigns disappointment but that's really an act.]

I was hoping that someone could tell me when it is taking place. I was thinking of going myself.

[ghostling]

I'm sure you'll find someone that knows. Personally I find such things to be stupid and a waste of time.

[Of course, she's never even been to one before so...]

[vaudevil]

[He cants his head to the side slightly with a raised brow.]

Yyeees, that may be true but why would you think it's stupid?

[ghostling]

Because it is. What point is there in dressing up and hiding behind masks and dancing?

[vaudevil]

Huh. Well, then they were not done correctly if the fantasy was left to be nothing more than a waste of time. There is much more to it. Some choose not to be masked at all.

It used to be, way back when, that the ladies wore the masks and the men had to find their lovers in the crowd. It was said that if they knew each other well, the men could see through the masks and find his lover without a problem.

The allure is the mystery since they are not allowed to speak once they are chosen and the one that finds his lover and guesses correctly are often married that night. But this was in an age where such things were possible.

Now, well, there is no mystery anymore. The magic has long been driven away by logic and the lack of imagination.

[His smile seems to fade.]

We tend to grow up much faster now and stop believing in such things.

[ghostling]

[If only you could see the look on her face, Lee. You'd probably get a laugh out of it.]

That sounds ridiculously stupid. [Really she thinks it's kind of neat and grossly romantic. But hey, she's never had anything like that in her life so just going to call it stupid.]

[vaudevil]

Of course it's stupid in a place like this. There are no lovers here and most people would rather slit the others' throat than dance the waltz.

[Deep down, he is a hopeless romantic but that doesn't last long when he's forced to survive.]

[ghostling]

Not sure that's entirely true but it is silly. Not that that'll stop people from going.

[vaudevil]

[He sighs and puts his chin in his hand.]

I hope someday you will come to change your mind. It would be a shame should you close yourself off entirely to the idea of such silly notions of fantasy.

[ghostling]

I doubt it. I don't have time for fantasy, haven't for years now. There's more important things to do rather than indulge in fantasy situations. [She doesn't know how to have fun.]

[vaudevil]

Absolutely none at all? You have the time to speak with me and you have no time to find a prince in the mist?

[He smiles and turns his head to the side slightly with an impish expression.]

Surely, there has to be someone that holds your fancy.

[ghostling]

Multitasking. And no, I have no one that holds my fancy. Neither here nor back home. [Liiiiies.]

[vaudevil]

[He clicks his tongue and shakes his head.]

Such a pity. An enchanting young woman such as yourself has no one she holds dear. At the very least, your judgment won't be clouded but your heart has grown cold.

[ghostling]

[And suddenly it's really hot under her mask but she's not taking it off.]

I have friends, that's all that matters.

[vaudevil]

[If he knew this, he would be smirking.]

Ah, well it's a start. Hopefully, I am among your ranks?

[ghostling]

[And then she really would punch him the next time she saw him.]

I suppose I consider you a friend.

[vaudevil]

Hm, I can accept that.

[He's messing with her a little because he knows better.]

[ghostling]

You don't have a choice, do you?

[She doesn't appreciate being messed with. :| ]

[vaudevil]

I suppose not.

[He claps his hands together and reaches for his device.]

Well, I suppose now it is better to just end this conversation on a good note, yes?

[ghostling]

I suppose. Try not to give anymore nice ladies heart attacks.

[vaudevil]

[He gives a wink and turns off the feed.]
