[ RAGEQUIT ]
[video]
[The room shown on the feed is sparse, bearing a cot and a small dresser. It's early morning or very late evening depending on who you talk to. The only source of light is a small lamp sitting on the desk beside the device, which does much to illuminate the small, skinny figure beside it. Actually, scratch that-- he's got glowing green eyes.]
It's not enough. [His voice is young and bitter with a searing edge of desperation. And his face is pretty much the same.] It's not enough!
[He stares hard at the pile of books and papers on his desk, then reaches over and grabs something. Whatever it is, it's small enough to fit in his hand. His eyes flare brightly, sickly green and hot; he opens his palm, and nothing but dust remains.]
Do you hear me, Initiative?! THIS ISN'T ENOUGH!
[His voice cracks, and that's the last straw for him. He swipes everything off the desk, lamp included, in one swift and violent display of anger. The lamp goes out, and the network feed ends.]
[ooc: Roommates, feel free to barge in if you want. Or... go back to sleep. lol. OTHERWISE OPEN TO ALL. he's been a bit of a hermit since the intro log and um... well, that was a couple weeks ago. |D]

video;
Was it enough to last you a suitable amount of time? [ Warily asking this. ]
video;
A week, with only minor spellcasting. I can tolerate up to two weeks if I must, but I will be useless if called upon.
[And also RAGING MAD.]
video;
Have they said they will give you no more?
video;
They need time to harvest more. Once a month. Once a month is all I will be given.
They should have killed me instead.
video;
video;
[He shakes his head fiercely.]
I will not become like him.
video;
[ She's sure her allies would have words with her if she offered outright. ]
video;
video;
704. That is where you can find me.
video;
As you wish.
[He cuts off the feed suddenly and without much warning. Since he's literally just on the floor beneath her, it only takes a couple minutes for him to navigate the stairs and find where her room is.
However, it takes another minute or two for him to get the courage to knock on the door.
He's not used to asking other people for help. He has, quite literally, been on his own since the Sunwell was destroyed. The assistance he got from the overloaded orphan matrons was minimal at best. He was taught how to drain magic and given one disgusting meal a day, if they were fortunate. Most of the time he was left to his own devices.
He's trembling like someone with low blood sugar as he stands awkwardly at her doorstep. He's unarmed this time, because if he tried to cast magic in this state he would probably just hurt himself. He doesn't entirely trust Jaina, but she has nothing to gain from hurting him. He has to believe that.
God, he hates being helpless.
He sucks in a breath through his teeth and knocks on the door.]
action forever
You must live nearby to have made it over so quickly. [ A tired smile as she holds open the door for him. ] Come inside please.
no subject
What did you want to talk about?
no subject
[ At least under her care and not under the supervision of others. Like Kael'thas-senpaisamasan okay. ]
This was an offer I could not make in public due to how many of your kind I have run into. [ Really, Jaina advertising that she's giving out mana gems can't be good. Besides, her good allies might have words with her over her choice should it become easy knowledge to come by. ] I can provide aid in that... area--[ Drawing out the word in uncertainty. ]--so long as I can have your word you would come to me before harming another.
[ Including himself. ]
no subject
But-- but Jaina is offering to help him with this. Jaina. Not only is Belthazar keenly against draining mana from another, it's motherfucking Jaina and one wrong move would get him killed without question. His disbelief shows on his face.]
What...? I-- I can't do that. [It all comes out in a rush.] To you, to anyone. I have not fed on another in years. I do not want to start again. I will not.
[But he is in pain, and he is trembling beneath the golden, worn hems of his sleeves.]
It is disgusting.
no subject
No, the Initiative may label you as a threat and dispose personally of your presence here. It is my, no, our goal to ensure that it fails to happen.
[ Tapping her cheek, she's mindful of keeping her arms fully covered all while doing so. ]
Although... there could be an easier way to do it. If I created something like what they gave you, that would be less barbaric would it not?
no subject
His fists curl as he looks down, ears wilting just enough to show that she's won.]
I can accept that.
[His voice sounds hollow to his own ears. He has no choice. He has no choice.]
The draining is excruciatingly painful otherwise.
no subject
[ That settles it in her mind as she lowers her arms to clasp her hands together below her waist. Looking him over, she takes in every one of his features as though studying him for signs of distress beyond the obvious. ]
How often?
no subject
... As long as I don't use a lot of magic, about two weeks.
no subject
Will you stay for a bite of something to eat though? The young man who lives here cooks too much and we are often found with leftovers.
no subject
He wonders if denying her request would make her mad. Oh well.]
I'm not hungry.
[He's too tired to be hungry or even angry at this point.]
