Alas, I fear that few things worth having ever come easy!

No, not at all. Fighting is a job we leave to the ambitious and the desperate.

No, no, we were at war then too, with the conquest of Sanady. But like a child, I was blind to any struggles but my own.

But I wouldn't say I'm in the business of war, even now.

So the children of your world have many troubles to take upon themselves besides war? What of their education? Are they denied one?

What are you in the business of if not war? This place calls us forth to do battle after all.

I like to think I'm in the business of avoiding war. But my wife says I flatter myself, and she also says she's always right when it comes to me.

It depends on the child. Most don't leave their farms, but there are academies and universities and libraries if you care enough to look for them.

While they conduct their studies, are they kept from the knowledge of the world around them? It fascinates me to think on it.

No, but some of them seem to keep themselves from the rest of the world by choice! Once you get lost in a book, it's hard to get out of it.
