So Vanadi's hosting the big Masquerade Ball later this month, and that got me to thinking...

There's no age limit, everyone's going to be wearing a mask and in costume, there's no supervision, and one of the most common questions out of new people showing up here is "where's the nearest bar," so it'll also have alcohol. Lots of it.

( Collette leans forward, chin resting on her interlaced hands, elbows on the table. She grins. )

This is so much better than Prom would ever be.

I'm thinking we need to spend some more time together if that's the type of person you're pegging me at. Practical jokes are fun! I prefer to watch other people set them up and wait on the outcome.

Giant rotating sphere you attach to the ceiling! It's covered in tiny mirrors, so it reflects light in all different ways. There was a whole culture of dance that grew up around it, but mostly these days it just looks interesting.

Not by choice. It takes way too much effort to dress up for those things to bother.

It's not that funny. Knowing how they go doesn't mean I find them interesting... I can't even be sure if this one will be like the ones in Gregminster. The one this guy throws might be completely insane.

A little insanity of this kind might not be a bad idea. Hangovers, memories people will go "oh man did I really do that?" over, that kind of stuff? It's a commemorative thing, why not make good memories for the future?

Or embarrassing ones. Those are fun to see from the outside.
