Why would Feferi, of all trolls, ever have anyfin she needs to do! I would have liked to leave behind a note or something, since I wasn't going to get a say in coming here.

So... Who wants to give me the reel [real] deal on what's going on here, anyweigh [anyway]? Shore strange stuff happens but I don't ever remember being conchcious [conscious] of it. Until I know what's going on, I reserve the right to both excessive glubbing and to become very EXCITED! You have been warned!

[ For just the briefest second, she looks disappointed, but perks right back up. ]

It's nothing! I just had to see something, that's all.

[ Wow this is incredibly awkward. ]

But I think there's something I need to talk to you about. In person.

[He arches an eyebrow at her change in appearance-- since when did that happen? Sure, Feferi's come and gone a few times in the castle, but this is the first time he's seen her with a different outfit and shorter hair. And it's not just that either... she just seems different. Older...?]

Yeah. Sure. Anywhere but my place.

[ She expected that reaction, and she probably should have warned him. ]

My block, then? I'm in number 303.

Alright. I'll be there thoon.

[Aaaand video off. Aaaaaand now he's kind of... really thinking about all the pieces. Feferi looking different, wanting to see him on video, plus what she's said to Equius...

... She might have the same problem he's having.

Either way, he takes his laptop with him when leaving. With asshole roommates like his, he can't risk leaving anything important here. And within 10 minutes, two knocks on 303.]

[ She's quick to answer the door, having purposely not enthralled herself in anything too demanding while waiting. Even as she stands aside, it's easier to see in person that she's grown a bit. ]

Thanks for coming, come on in. It's nice to see you again.

[ She's definitely not kidding anyone. Even though she knows it needs to be done, she also knows this conversation is going to be uncomfortable. But then again, it's Sollux. How badly could it possibly go? ]

[He's grown some from his original height, last time he was in his proper timeline as well, but not nearly as much as Feferi. She's... taller than him, now. Wow, this is really fucking weird. He... looks up to her, taking in her appearance again. Wow, this is kind of making him feel weird, and Feferi's almost formal tone doesn't really help that.]

He steps inside after awkwardly muttering a "hey, FF," and tries to shake off the weird feelings he's having. It's still Feferi. It couldn't be that weird. Any more weirder than she usually was, at least.

Yep. Definitely a little weird. There's not a lot to be done for the fact that she has to tilt her head downwards to make eye contact. Had they really grown that much? To ease the tension a little, hopefully, she reaches out to take his hand as she moves to lead him to her room.

"I didn't interrupt anything, did I?"

"Jutht me hating everything about thith place. You know, the uthual," he sighs, letting her lead him elsewhere.

"Is it? I don't really know what the usual is here."

This is probably a conversation best held in as much privacy as possible. She hasn't met her blockmates yet, and as much as she wants to, it can wait. Pulling him into her own room, she shuts the door behind them. She just hopes that she can say this without hurting or troubling him too much.

"So," she starts, but pauses looking for the right words, and not finding them, deferring to instinct, "How shocked would you be if I told you I'm probably not the same Feferi you're used to?"

He pauses, looking her over once again. And then shrugs.

"Not very."

He is going to avoid saying how that bothers him right now, though.

As if she needed him to tell her. It's bothering her as well, and bothering her more that she feels so uncomfortable around him, of all trolls. That's not how it's supposed to be. Adding to it that she has no idea where 'her' Sollux actually is, and that he simply left before her... there are a lot of unresolved questions that she doesn't see herself finding any answers to any time soon.

"So how much do you want to know?"

"... Were you thomewhere before, but it wathn't the meteor?"

"Yes," she nods, a little surprised at the guess but not too much so. "I was on Earth, in a place called New Mexico."

"I thought tho. At the thomewhere elthe part, not the ... New Mexico part. Wathn't Earth dethtroyed...?" Not that that really seemed to matter. "And... let me gueth. There were other people there, maybe even trollsth, but thingsth are different here than they were there. Right?"

"Right, there were other trolls there, and some of our humans, and then a number of other beings from other worlds being brought there." Havng to explain it, she realizes just how used to it she got, to the point where it doesn't even seem strange to say. For the moment, she leaves out some of the other oddities... like the duplicates. All in due time. "I was there for eight or nine months, and I never heard of anything like this place."

"The thame happened to me too." Well, same to a certain extent. But it was close enough. "A ... magic cathtle. And shut up, I know that thoundsth thtupid ath shit... But yeah. I thought for a while... maybe it wath a firtht guardian that had done that. Nothing elthe would explain it, but finding mythelf here now, and you experiencing the thame thing... it couldn't be that. I don't even know what to think."

Feferi only looks curious. A magic castle certainly wouldn't have been her first guess, but at this point, it's hard to discount anything.

"I don't know, either, but it sort of feels like being in the middle of some kind of multi-universe game of hot potato..." She tries to laugh, but it falls flat. It wasn't much of a joke to begin with, anyway. "You were there too, where I was before. We were... we went through a lot together. We had plans, but you left before I did."

He could make a lot of comments on that. Including: you were hardly around. I thought I lost you so many times. I met a dead version of you. the multiverse sucks and we have no place in it.

Instead he says: "What plansth?"

"We were going to make it our new home," she explains. She hasn't actually stopped to consider the loss of that future before now. Or at least, if there's any hope for it, there's going to be a lot of work to do. "Things weren't so great, but we were going to make them better."

"..."

Wow, this is just getting increasingly awkward. She's already planned a whole life in ... essentially, another dimension, for herself and the Sollux she knew. Which... yeah, maybe it'd be an idea he could get used to over time, but right now the idea of that just seems... so off-putting.

He doesn't say anything and hopes maybe there's a part two here, so he won't need to think of a good response.

It's not exactly comfortable for her. She looks at him and still feels all the affection she knows she should, but it lingers above her head that he's got no idea what went on between them, what they had to look forward to. She knows what that silence means; she might as well broach the subject.

"Sollux," she finally says, quietly and almost a little choked, because it hurts to think about what she knows she needs to say. "I know it's weird. I don't expect you to be the same you I was with. I don't even expect you to stay in a quadrant with me, if you don't want to. All I'd want is to still be friends."
