[ Everything looks shaky, like she's holding the camera towards her while she's walking pretty fast ]

All right ladies and gentlemen, I'll make this quick! Busy busy the moment I showed up at this messy joint again, teeheehee! So, some of these guys tell me the transporter needs to be fixed and pieces need to be retrieved! I'm all for retrieving things and fixing stuff if it means keeping those icky nasty monsters away!

Anyone wanna fill me in or help or something?? Can't do this by myself, no sirrrreeee!

Need help with a transporter? If you got the tools, little lady, I'll see what I can do.

Tools? Teehee, yeah, sure, I've got more than just tools, buddy! Who're you, huh?

I'm the best damn programmer you can get your hands on. Jack, at your service.

Well then, Jack, you can deal with all that techno programming whatever and I'll do the physically tacking stuff in! I mean, I can toootally do both, but stick to what you're best at, right? Teeheehee!

[Takes a screwdriver from inside her jacket and pokes at the screen.]

I guess we'll just stay in contact!

Sure thing, buddy. Where's this teleporter anyway? Brand spanking new over here. It's not the one I'm assuming I came from is it? Because, yeah, that'd just be too easy.

Teeheehee, to be fair, I'm new here too...sorta. [Pause.] Yeap, anyway. Here, why don't I just seeeeend these coordinates to ya-- [You can see her fiddling with some shit on the device]

It's SO not that one, gosh! If it was, then, yeah...totally too easy, teehee!

Teehee indeed. I'll see you there.

[Grins.]

Roger that!

[Jack goes to the coordinates. The least he could do here is get his footing, gain the trust of everyone else, before planning anything. He looks the teleporter up and down, crossing his arms]

Now what the hell is this?

[He was going to fix it... supposedly. He could use this to his advantage]

[Tools tucked away inside her inner jacket pockets, she sets out for the same coordinates, taking her time and picking up random things from off the ground. Never know when these idle screws and bolts might come in handy!

She practically skips the rest of the way, humming a tune, and then finds someone staring at the teleporter.]

Outta the way, buddy!

[Jack blinks, looking over to see.. a girl with a ridiculous amount of hair from the post.]

Oh hey. Don't mind me, just eying my next project here.

[He rose an eyebrow]

Got my tools, Q-Tip?

[She's all over the place, just peering around him, going around back, tip-toeing to see over it- you know, being a general spazz.]

You mean MY tools that I'm totally letting you borrow!

[She pulls one side of her jacket open, digging into the inner pocket to bring out a large folded-up satchel of tools. She hands it to him, sticking her tongue out at him.]

And it's Lash!

[He takes the satchel... slightly impressed by her collection. He ties it onto his belt, raising a brow.]

Lash?

[He grabs a screwdriver out of the satchel.. he needed to open up the front plate to look at the wiring.]

Not even going to ask what your parents were thinking. [He deadpans at her sticking her tongue out at him] Mature.

[Just watches him from the side, hands shoved into her jacket pockets, teetering back and forth on her heels.]

Wouldn't know what to tell ya, Jack! Teeheehee...so, ya program stuff. What exactly do you do back home or whatever, huh?

Basically what you'd expect. [He turned, getting to work.] Programming robots, AI, high-tech weaponry, shields, viruses, cloning machines... Looked at a couple teleporters in my day but I admit it's been a while.

What about you, kiddo?

I meant like your job title and stuff, gosh! But I guess that tells me all I really to need, huh? [Pauses, then leans against the transporter, taking in all the details of his work as if trying to learn from him.]

Welllll, me, I WAS the weapons designer and expert back on base! I made all kinds of weapons, mostly!

OH, title? President of a company.

[ he shrugs like it's no big ]

A weapons designer? Ain't we two peas. What kind of weapons?

[ he asked while he worked. He took out a palm pilot looking device from his pocket and connected it, starting to type away. He needed to check the specs on this thing. ]

Fancy shmancy, a president! Teeheehee!

[Her face lights up and she pushes off the transporter with her butt, circling him as she talks.]

Almost anything that goes boom! Like, my specialties are bombs and cannons! Ummm, I did help with some non-weaponry designs too, like underwater repair boats and floating fortresses... but that stuff is kinda borrrring compared to blowing stuff up!

[He laughs

Some people say a girl who likes to play with explosives is a red flag.

[A ha. Curious coding, but he's able to figure it out]

I say good on ya for making it this far without blowing up a limb or two.

Something wrong with reg flags? Teehee... I take that as a compliment!

[She looks over at his work now and then, nodding along, humming a vague tune.]

Believe it or not, I actually follow safety procedures!

Well, you'd be the first teenager I've ever met that does.

[He types a bit more before looking at Lash]

Well, did what I could with it's programming, but it needs some pieces to be reattached so we can test it. You got 'em?

Uhhhh, sorta. See, like, I don't really know if they belong to the thing, y'know? It's honestly the first time I've seen this thing! But I'm goin' with my gut on this one, Jack-O! Teeheehee!

[She fishes out a couple of small metallic objects that hardly seem consequential, but could easily be something that it really needs to work. Funny how parts work like that. Then she holds them out in her hands, a medium sized bolt and an odd shaped fragment.]

[Jack takes the odd shaped fragment, turning it in his fingers with his brows knit together. He glances back at Lash.]

Alright, kiddo. Install it.

[If she wasn't sure it belonged to it... it sure as hell isn't going to be him that gets electrocuted because of it]

[No inventor/mechanic touches unknown machinery without a handy pair of rubber work gloves! She stretches them on, then takes the parts from Jack.]

Installation in progress! [Gleefully, shoving the piece into the transporter.]

[As she installs the part, he turns the medium sized bolt in his hands, trying to figure out where the hell it goes.]

How did this thing get wrecked to begin with? Someone used it one too many times to pull pranks?

Pfft, beats me! [She struggles with the piece, shifting it about, twisting it into place until it snaps in just right. There's a loud but brief buzzing sound, and Lash jumps back with a yelp.]

Maybe someone just blew it up!

Whatever happened to the good 'ol fashioned Prince Albert in a can?

[He laughs at her jumping]

You got it in? Good job, kiddo.

[He hands the bolt to her]

I think that goes in there... somewhere. I don't know. Tinker, if that's what you do.

[Snatches the bolt from him and inspects it, staring into the insides of the transporter.]

Uhhh, that joke is totally too old fashioned, if you ask me! Teehee...

[After a bit of tinkering, she grabs a wrench and twists it in somewhere.]

All right, um, pretty sure that wasn't like even a totally important piece at all! But... it's finally finished!

You could at least stop walking when you use this. Unless your goal is to make everyone seas...

[Wait. She knows this girl.]

And here I thought my charming smile and natural charisma would be enough... Maybe I should give this friendship thing a second thought. To make sure it's really worth the effort.

You know what they say! It's never good to rush anything, teeheehee! Even if it's something cool and exciting like bomb testing or cannon trial runs, or something laaaame and kinda boring like friendship!
