Can I ask someone some questions about human parents? Like if you have them, or if you are one!

[ With the way Feferi has her face all up in the camera, you would think she had never used technology before. But no, she's just very exuberant, more so than usual. ]

Oh yeah, and that's not the only thing I wanted to say! So who remembers that we were working on a guide for new people? Well, it's finally ready!

But before I print it out, I want everyone to see it. What do you all think? And some people can be relieved that there are only plain, boring fonts, thanks to the all the help I got! If anyone else has anything to add, tell me! Also, it would be great if some people would volunteer as contacts for the new people. You know, like an on-call question answerer!





[ OOC; some notes!

• There will be a printed version of the guide that looks pretty much the same only in folded booklet form, minus the links at the bottom for obvious reasons. In their place there will be a note about those resources being available on the digital version.


• Some of the links are fake because the information doesn't exist in linkable form! Mouse over fake links to see a description of where they lead.


• If you have corrections to make but do not play a character who would bring it up, let me know and we'll figure it out!


• This goes for characters who volunteered questions/answers too, who want to be listed as a writer. I didn't want to assume who would and wouldn't want to be listed.


• If I missed adding a link, let me know and I will add it!

I'm just curious about how humans feel about their parents, or what kind of relationships they have with them! I have a basic idea but I would like to know more. Just out of curiosity!

Relationships with parents varies between people. There are those who have rather close relationships with their parents, and there are those who have never known their parents at all.

And that is barely skimming the surface.

Well, what about you and your parents?

I was rather close to both my parents. I spent most of my time with my mother as a child, seeing as my father was away for awfully long spans of time having more important matters to tend to.

[IS THAT A TRACE OF BITTERNESS IN HER TONE? yes. yes it is.]

After her death, I grew closer to my father. He was certainly a childhood hero of mine, someone I looked up to.

A hero? What about him made him a hero?

[ Let's just ask all the difficult questions! ]

[it's...actually nice to talk about her father as though his more recent deeds had never happened.

to talk about him like a hero, not the paranoid brute of a man which did her country so much harm.]

He was a military leader, a key strategist and warrior who helped to lead our country's victory against the Orlesian menace which occupied our land. He was the advisor and friend of the rightful king Maric, and known throughout the land as the Hero of the River Dane, a hero who turned the rebellion in our favour.

He had been a great man, one to be admired by Fereldans, and feared by his enemies. Born to a farmer yet gone on to be so much more.

[A PAUSE completely unaware of her tl;dr because she's ~daddy's little girl~ woops]

And even if he had not accomplished all those things, even if he were not acknowledged by his country as a hero, he would still be mine. Most fathers often are to their children, even if all they did was something as simple as teaching them how to fish.

He sounds really cool! But not like any other human parent I've ever met. I guess it takes all kinds?
