I've been curious about something lately. How does magic work in other worlds?

[ A somewhat ironic question, coming from him. In his 'universe,' he supposed, it was fairly universal. But from what he's seen lately... it's slightly more complicated than that. And he's curious if he can learn other spells besides the ones he already knows. ]

Ah, a spell calls on something like one of the elements, or a mazoku or god, to lend you its power to do something. So, if you want to cast a fireball, you have to invoke the element of fire in a certain way.

Magic? Why do you ask?

Magic, huh?

It's a difficult to explain how it works in my home world but I'll give it a shot. We have something called soul ability, it's an innate power all souls have but it takes years to master. Of course the powers vary based on their past lives' experiences and other factors. Living creatures can't normally access that since it could have undesirable consequences on the physical body.

That depends on what you think of as magic.

[What's up, Zexion. Have a maybe kind of familiar face look rather thoughtful at that question?]

I suppose that would depend on the world itself.

I've only just heard about different worlds. Still not sure what I'm supposed to think about it.

We don't have any magic in mine, though. How does it work in yours?

Kind of the opposite of a god. The gods come from and get power from creation, the mazoku come from and get power from destruction.

Smoke and mirrors! I'm pretty sure we don't have magic straight up and up where I'm from. Really awesome technology on the other hand? Oh yeah.

I think magic is fairy tale stuff. But someone confused things I can do with magic when I first got here.

Either you're "blessed" with it, or you're not.

Yes technically speaking. Where I live, the world is split into two realms: a physical "living" realm and the spiritual one where spirits and deities reside. I live in the later but I'm not a soul waiting for reincarnation and I can cross over to the living realm if needed.
