004 ☥ Video

[Chloe's looking a little pale today. Or really pale, and she's already pale enough as it is. It makes her look a little sick and a lot tired.] Does anyone know the number of casualties from the attack?

[There's a pause as her gaze follows something before she returns her attention to the feed. Too many dead bodies. Too many ghosts. It's an uncomfortable feeling.] Or what will happen to the bodies? I-I haven't, um... Gone looking for a cemetery. [Lol, because who would, right?] What I mean is, I... [Oh my God, Chloe, you are an idiot. She clears her throat.] Will they be buried?

[He hasn't given this much consideration yet. It's cold enough outside it hasn't become the pressing issue it could or will given enough time.]

If our kidnappers don't see fit to do something about them, we should burn them before illness can spread.

Yes. In my world it is the most commonly acceptable way to deal with the dead, burning and then burying the ashes. I'll admit my concern is less rooted in piety and more in practicality. You may have noticed a dearth of unpaved land close by. The longer these bodies sit, the worse of a problem they're going to be. Burying them en masse could also contaminate the water supply.

[He pauses, realizing that lack of sleep has him less diplomatic than he ought to be.]

My apologies if your concerns are more spiritual in nature. I mean no disrespect.

It doesn't have to be obviously near it for contamination to occur, depending upon how fast the water flows and what's beneath us. Aside from those tunnels, I mean.

[He tilts his head curiously, although he knows she can't see him.]

I'm not entirely certain I follow what you're saying. Can the dead here become demon possessed? Do they rise and attack the living? If so I'd say it's best to get on this burning detail sooner rather than later.

They are. I spent more time in them than I care to think of once the bombardment began.

[Interesting. Something he said upset her. He decides against pushing it for now.]

There are undead here? [More sharply.] Of what sort?

One of the children rooms with me. I'm afraid he has already seen worse than this, but you have a point. Are you interested in getting together to deal with the bodies? If so I'll assist you. I may be able to bring others along.

On the latter, I'd say alive. [He's rather decisive with that. He might have a good reason for it, given he falls into that group.]

I wouldn't expect you to dead lift dead weight on your own. Unless you wanted to. I'll put it this way. Now that you've put that idea in my head, I'm going to be following up on it. I would welcome help without expecting it.

I'll meet you in front of the apartments. I'm hard to miss.

[Silverite armor stands out in a crowd.]

I must have missed it!

Thank you. The assistance will be appreciated.

(OOC: Body burning. Hmmm. Let's give this a handwave. If it's OK, I'll shoot you a quick PM about general things he would discuss with her for CR purposes.)
