I had thought that the answer was clear, but considering what we were recently put through...

I'm having difficulty deciding which one I find more insufferable between The Initiative and the United Earth.

Perhaps some of you would like to share your thoughts on the matter?

Ooooh yeah they did. I loved the part where my friends were coming after me with lines out of a fighting game. Die! Surrender! Way over the top and ridiculous if you ask me!

It didn't last for very long, did it?

Nope! They shut it down in a week. The overall idea isn't bad -- I'm... happy it happened, in a way -- but talk about terrible execution.

Why would you ever be "happy" about it?

'Cause some things you can only do in the freedom of your own mind. And unlike when it's really just up in your head, it felt real while we were in there. I went skateboarding!

[Now why did you have to say things that hit her so close to home...]

What happens in one's mind can be more real than you realize.

You might be surprised. Or maybe not! Have you spent a lot of time in your own head too?

And if I have?

I don't know. What's it mean to you that you have? I think we all do, for different reasons.

[bittertears]

I was... ill, for quite a number of years. I still am, really, though I've come to feel differently about my condition.

Were you in the hospital for a long time then?

[bittertears]

An asylum, for ten years.

[whatsupcroc]

[ Her first thought is on how boring that must have been. Talk about places that you can't find your way out of. ]

What for? Did you get out again?

Lost hold of my sanity and never quite got it back.

Not even right now?

[bittertears]

Even now.

Returning to how one used to be several years ago can often be difficult, if not impossible.

[whatsupcroc]

Yeah, I hear you on that. But that's not all a bad thing, not to me. We move forward and change because we have to anyway. So... you lost your old mind, but you have the one you have now.

[bittertears]

I suppose I should be fortunate, in that regard. A damaged mind is preferable to having none at all.

See, you're already finding the silver lining. It's your mind, and that's an important thing! That you have control of what's yours.

[bittertears]

Getting a little bit ahead of yourself, aren't you? Just because it's mine doesn't mean I have control of it.

[whatsupcroc]

Trust me, you've got more than you might expect. Even if it's not total.

[bittertears]

It'll be all I can attain, for now.

What about in the future?

I suppose I'll just have to find out.
