[ Scott's made the effort to prop the netbook up on his desk, so when the video flicks on, it has that staged look - he's sitting in his desk chair a few feet back, elbows on his knees and head slightly lowered. But his eyes are locked on the screen, and the general vibe is definitely "not happy". ]

I'm looking for Derek Hale - let me know if you've seen or heard from him. [ There's a beat, then he remembers to have some manners. ] Thanks in advance.

[A shake of her head.] I only ever saw him at the apartment. If he has been in other places [like the woods and gym] we haven't run into each other. Have you checked the forest yet, though? It's fairly large, and there is land beyond. You could spend days wandering.

[ Okay, sure, not a great job getting him off the scent there (har har). His brows furrow at the change of subject to the woods, because - well. Smelling things you shouldn't and spending time wandering the future-woods alone? ]

Yeah? You spend a lot of time out there? [ Totally nonchalant question. He's not prying or anything, honest. ]

[It's a fairly innocent question, as far as Belle is concerned.] Yes? Did you forget the part where I don't come from any world that looks remotely like this? The forest is the only place that feels familiar to home.

... yeah, okay. I guess that makes sense. [ He doesn't sound very convinced, though. The idea of her coming from some kind of Narnia isn't really something he's grasped fully, so he's still skeptical. ]

Isn't it a bit dangerous out there? Do you go by yourself?

[She just gives Scott a flat look. Not very impressed right now, seriously.]

No more dangerous that being around the city. People have no sense of personal space. [A pause.] He learned, though. [And then she shrugs.] Mostly, yes. I sometimes find other people wandering out there. I was alone in a forest for quite a long time. I know how to handle myself among a bunch of trees and six-legged rabbits.

Okay, I guess you've got a point there. [ He has the awareness to look slightly nervous about the stray 'he learned' comment, because - yikes. ] You mean you lived in the forest where you came from? Did you have a - wait, did you say six-legged rabbits?
