[ Scott's made the effort to prop the netbook up on his desk, so when the video flicks on, it has that staged look - he's sitting in his desk chair a few feet back, elbows on his knees and head slightly lowered. But his eyes are locked on the screen, and the general vibe is definitely "not happy". ]

I'm looking for Derek Hale - let me know if you've seen or heard from him. [ There's a beat, then he remembers to have some manners. ] Thanks in advance.

Derek, if you're out there, quit being a jerk and respond.

[ Private - Dean Winchester ]

[ scott's glower intensifies at the sight of dean's smug face, because wow, nobody can do smug quite like dean can. scott doesn't really hate people, not often, but this guy is doing a great job of making it to that prestigious list in record time. ]

Did you do something to him?

[ For a question, it sounds an awful lot like a command. ]

[ so derek, huh? at least now he has a name. well, if the guy is still around. dean might not have done anything but he can play along. that angry look is so worth it, and all.

he makes a thoughtful sound. ]

And if I did? You gonna get all grrr 'bout it?

[ yeah, actually, he is going to get all 'grr' about it, judging from the flash of gold in his eyes. ]

Look, I don't know what your deal is back home, but we're not a bunch of animals. You can't just act like a - psychopath, shooting and kidnapping people.

But I really don't have time to deal with your issues, so can you please just answer the question?

[ leave it to scott to still say 'please' ]

[ smirk. ]

A bunch of animals is exactly what you are. Murderous, people eating ones, in fact. [ okay, so maybe werewolves don't necessarily eat people but they do kill them out of bloodlust.

and screw your please, scott, as if he cares. he'd rather have you dealing with the stress of a good old what if nagging in that head of yours.

[ anger is quickly slipping into exasperation (well, angry exasperation), because jesus, this guy is a violent jerk. if they were dealing with texts and scott didn't know better, he'd swear he was talking to kate argent. ]

Are you serious? You don't even know that! I've never hurt anyone, and - [ he's about to bring the others into it, but catches himself. he's already screwed derek over assuming he's not already captured, the last thing he needs to do is compromise anyone else. ]

Look, I do everything I can to keep people safe - from me, from other... things. Just because werewolves where you come from are a bunch of assholes doesn't mean we are.

[ a quick laugh. ]

Man, if I got a dollar every time I hear that. [ someone would be a rich man. ]

So what happens when the full moon rolls 'round? You still all about protectin' everyone or do more primal urges take over? You know, of the angry, violent kind. [ because even if there are differences, the basic concept revolves around the full moon, right? ]

See, that's where the limit is crossed, buddy. And someone has to do something about that-- a war is enough, we don't need werewolves runnin' around as well.

[ that causes scott to back down a bit, tone becoming more somber - because yes, he's come close to hurting people on the full moon, and he's the last one to not take that seriously. but things are changing, he's learning to control it, and even if he can't - they're careful. ]

We have ways of controlling it, and if we can't - we keep ourselves away from everyone else. We watch each other.

Trust me, I know how dangerous it can be if you're stupid. But the last werewolf that hurt people - [ hurt him ] - we dealt with it. Derek dealt with it. We're still us, we still try to do the right thing.

Cute. No, really, so adorable. You probably think I'll just let you slip on off thanks to this little speech, huh? Sorry, dude, it's not that easy. I've heard more convincing shit before and it always ends in blood anyway. [ except that one time when he let a group of vampires go because they claimed only to drink animal blood. oops. ]

So how about we cut the crap and get back to the part where I hunt you and your buddies down, and make a mean fur coat outta y'all.

[ ARHGHHGHHghhHGh is essentially the response to that, but scott manages to avoid actually growling in frustration. only barely, though. this is impossible, and it's really not going to help with the whole 'keep isaac from committing murder' thing. ]

Dammit - you're really, seriously not helping anything with this renegade crap. Look, it's not like you can't find me - if we slip up, fine, come get me. But I can keep everyone safe if you'd just chill out for one second. [ everyone including dean - because the way this is going, he's not so sure isaac's not going to gut him first chance he gets. it can probably be interpreted as a threat, or a warning, if a subtle one. ]

No dice, kid. The moment I do that, someone gets killed. Someone innocent. [ someone human, and normal. plus, chilling out from the job is not something dean winchester does, not when there are werewolves running around right under his nose. ]

You should worry more about your friend anyway, don't you think? Never know what kinda shape you might find him in. [ he might not have derek, but dean is going to milk the possibility for all that it's worth. ]

[ Scott wants to say that he's innocent, and so is Isaac, but - clearly this isn't working, so there's no point in wasting his breath. So he goes quiet instead, expression darkening at Dean's taunting; when he speaks up again, his voice is level, all challenge. ]

You don't know where he is, do you?

[ Scott doesn't have time for your crap, Dean. ]

[ there's the lazies of shrugs. ]

I might, I might not. You still gotta find him. Only difference is whether he's in pieces or not. [ dean's going to sure he finds this derek fella and leaves him as nothing but a bloody smear for scott to enjoy. ]

[ He has to fight down another surge of instinctive aggression, but he keeps his eyes from flashing this time. Either way, he's clearly fed up with this conversation, and he's not going to be able to maintain control for much longer. ]

You're full of it. If you had him, you wouldn't be making stupid phone calls. [ His tone is confident, even if he's not. The truth is, the only thing he's confident of is that Dean's psychotic and impossible to read. ]

Oh, trust me, man. One werewolf isn't gonna stop me from making a phone call if I feel like it. [ which is true enough. maybe an alpha would be harder to contain, but dean has enough experience trapping supernatural beings to feel confident enough about go about his business as usual. ]

Plus, couldn't just ignore your angry little demands, what kinda person would that make me?

[ Bluffing or not, Scott's done with talking circles with this guy. He's tempted to roll his eyes, but the threat's real enough to make him take this seriously. Well, almost. ]

Whatever. [ Yeah, still a teenager. ] If you've got something useful to say, you know where to find me.

[ And with that, he reaches over and turns off the feed - well, more like almost slams the netbook down on the table in the process, since he's a bit rough with the poor thing - but the end result is the same. Conversation over. He'll probably regret starting crap with Dean Winchester later, but as of right now he's too worried about Derek and keeping Isaac from spilling blood. And really, like Isaac said - Dean's just one guy, right?

Scott couldn't handle Kate Argent, but that was then. A lot's changed in just a few weeks - if he can handle Gerard, he can handle one trigger-happy hunter... right? ]
