Have you heard of the butterfly effect? It's where one different condition can change results in multiple tests. It's called that where a butterfly can set off a hurricane a thousand miles away.

I haven't heard of it referred to in such a way, but the thought is... admittedly a familiar one brought up back home on more than one occasion.

( Though admittedly, they were more focused on how changing the future could effect the past. )
