 [The video is dark at first and there’s only a faint outline of a silhouette before a hand reaches out to turn the lamp on.]

Forgot about that. So – can I go home now? Not that this place isn’t cool and all, but it’s pretty much just like home, but it isn’t actually home, and I have important things to do back at my actual home. I’m sure everyone does. Kind of rude to just yank me out of there, messed up my sense of direction and everything. Where even am I.

[He flops back on the bed, curling up in his coat, and drags the netbook along with him.]

I mean, they told me, but it didn’t really answer my questions. Honestly? This is stupid. I’d like to be back in my own dimension now where the things I do actually matter. I don’t live here. I’m not entitled to help these people do whatever they’re doing. Rebel? They’re pretty damn tight-lipped about it if you ask me.

Anyway. [He waves his hand dismissively.] Anyone out there?

Who knows? I think most people here are willing to go along with it. At least for now.

I don't know. I'd say it wouldn't hurt to give it a shot, but it might. How are we supposed to know if the cause they want us to fight for is even legitimate? People aren't just locked up on barren islands for no reason.

We don't. Like you said, there are a lot of things they're keeping us in the dark about. We only have their words for it.

Okay. I guess there's not much else I can do but give them a chance, anyway.

And if they turn out to be lying? What will you do then?

[there's a short, humorless laugh.]

Dunno. Don't think it'll be pretty, though. You?

I'll figure something out.

Although, if they were planning to lie to us, you have to wonder why they would give us weapons. [He's almost sure there's a catch there somewhere.]

Maybe it has something to do with that 'sentience' they were talking about. Could be loyal to them. Might only be helpful to us until we turn on them - there's gotta be a failsafe for something like that.

[alphaintraining]

That's what I was thinking. [It's nice to see someone on the same page as him.]

So what if there was a way to turn that failsafe off, or better yet, turn it around so that the sentience, whatever it is, is only loyal to us?

[He stops to think for a minute, scratching his chin.]

To be fair though, I might be getting too far ahead. They haven't done much to prove we need to go against them. But having that as an option is probably a good thing to keep in mind for later...

That will have to wait until we actually find the fail safe. If there is one. [But he doesn't doubt for a moment that there is.]

Whatever they have planned, we'll probably find out soon enough.
