Hello. This is... [ She pauses and huffs a laugh, her calm a little less forced. ] This isn’t how I expected my day to go in the slightest. I have been to alternate dimensions before, goodness knows, but this time around is a bit odd. It’s very organized.

I am. [ The smile disappears into a slight frown. ] My name is Wanda Maximoff and I am known as the Scarlet Witch. For a time, I was an Avenger. If there is anyone here from my world, my name may mean any number of things to you. I hope we may speak civilly regardless.

[ Though she’s not getting her hopes up, if the look on her face is any indication. ]

Mm-hm! My last two jobs kept me on the move. Guess I won't be getting home any time soon. [There is a smidgen of sadness in that.]

Traveling can make things unpredictable. Not counting sudden kidnappings, of course, but I'm sure you'll get back home someday.

...Maybe. [And Mahdi is wistful, thinking that he might never go home, so he quickly changes the subject.] Where are you from?

Well, I've lived in the United States of America for most of my adult life.

Ah, that's where I've been for the last few months too. Most people are nice! [Sometimes, they aren't nice, and that makes Mahdi sad, but he rarely lets it get him down.] I've been living in New York. It's really, really... [what's the word?] big!

Truly? I used to live in New York as well! And yes, you're right, it's almost like it's own country.

There's so many different kinds of people. It's really lovely. [Probably not a word most people would use for NY.]

It does have it's charm. I grew up in the country for the most part, I've never quite gotten the rhythm for big cities.

I've always lived in a city of some kind. One of my jobs was in the suburbs, but it's not like I've heard the countryside is. Sometime I'd really like to see a big wide open space, like mountains or a forest or a field of grain or something...! I guess it's all about your perspective.

I guess it does. What sort of work did you do?

Right now I'm working as a line cook at a diner! It's lots of fun.

You sound like you're a bit of a jack of all trades.
