We're currently on an island called Exsilium, which is the region formerly known as Great Britain. It's run by a group of people who call themselves 'the Initiative'. They're a resistance movement fighting against the powers who control the rest of the world, now known as the United Earth. Their main strategy is to send their personnel into the past to effect events that will positively influence the future of the Initiative. And to get the manpower necessary for their war, they've collected transports from across any feasible reality, so there's beings claiming to be robots and mythological creatures as well.
