[Currently, the netbook is upside down when it's finally turned on, so there's a weird angle on the young woman's face as she leans into super close to the screen. Seriously, she spent about twenty minutes pressing buttons and commanding the mirror to turn on. Anyone paying attention to the network probably saw a lot of keysmashing and hearing her say some crap like "Mirror Mirror". :| It's pretty embarrassing.] This is a piece of junk. Is this like one of the magic mirrors I've heard about? Because it's no wonder only witches have them.

[Her cheeks puff out a bit as she moves back, and while the video is still upside down, you can make out that while the girl is pretty, her dark hair is messy and full of leaves, her clothes are slightly dirty, and she's scowling pretty intensely.] I am sick of magic. And also people holding me against my will. [The girl taps at the screen, hard.] Or people using me for their own means. [Basically? There's a long list of things that Belle is sick of.]

Send me home. I will make any deal you want, give you anything you ask for.

Except for the part where the people don't even know how to properly use these items. It's going to blow up in their faces.

[Someone actually thinks it's nice to meet her? Whoa, life is weird.] Same to you. [She thinks.] It's the only thing I need help with at the moment.

Probably! Lucky us, we get to be here when it does. Did you end up with one of the weapons they were offering?

[ She nods. ]

If I do learn anything about getting home, I'll make sure to pass it along. Anything more than rumors and guesswork.

[bearnecessities]

[A pause and then Belle lifts up the bow that she had chosen for herself. She came pretty close to having it be her curse form, but this is probably more useful.] You?

I am supposing that when we do learn, all of us will at the same time.

[whatsupcroc]

[ Collette leans off to the side, coming back up with something silverish in her hand. She shows off a stop-watch (or is it a pocket watch?) to her new acquaintance. ]

I hope so! It'd suck to have half us us learn and disappear, and the other half stick around without knowing a thing.

[bearnecessities]

[She flashes a half-grin.] Are you attempting to become a master of time?

I wouldn't blame the people who learned to take the first opportunity to escape from here, but it would be terrible for the rest of us.

[whatsupcroc]

More like an apprentice. I don't think I could pull off a beard for full masterhood.

Maybe that can be part of the laws Miles was talking about. Miles Edgeworth -- he's a lawyer -- he and his mentor's daughter are both here. They're prosecutors so I'm not sure if they've written law before, because aren't those different sorts of lawyers?

Eugh, anyway, it would suck, but maybe there's some way to make sure people won't totally try to run out on us once they think they have half of a good answer for getting home.

[bearnecessities]

[She just sort of looks confused during that whole thing because lawyers aren't really a big thing in her home.] Wouldn't the leaders of this place already have their own laws? Why would they allow anyone else to make up their own?

Maybe, but doubtful, unless we were to find some means to read minds.

Who knows? I think it's probably no one wanting to have to deal with us, which is weird, but the whole thing doesn't sound thought through. And I thought I'd run into a few hare-brained schemes before!

Oooh, do you think we could?

[bearnecessities]

They're really beginning to inspire loyalty in me, I can feel it. [so deadpan.]

Probably not. Unless we found people with those abilities.

[whatsupcroc]

[ Collette's grin is close-mouthed this time. ]

They sure know how to bring out the best in all of us.

I wonder if we do have anyone like that right now. I swear there's probably at least someon. I don't know if I'd ever want something like that as a power on my own. Can you imagine, hearing too much of what people are thinking all the time? That has to get so boring!

In my own world, there was plenty of variety among the witches when it came to their abilities, and that is just one land. From what I understand, there are many from different worlds, right? One of us is bound to be able to read minds. [Logic!] I think it would be useful. You'd be able to know what people were planning ahead of time.

[whatsupcroc]

[ Collette really only half takes this in, enthused at the idea of witches to a point where she fails to absorb the fine details thus asking about it in the future like a dunce sob. ]

You'd also hear about every time they have to pee.

[bearnecessities]

I'm sure you could shut it off if you wanted to. Maybe.

[whatsupcroc]

I'll ask the first psychic I learn about. Then maybe we'll know.

Or they'll avoid me because they'll know I want to ask them about it and they don't want to talk about it or someone will walk by in the street one day and just say "no" and walk off again. Maybe!

[bearnecessities]

Or maybe they'll want to talk about it, because it might be something different to them.

[She smiles.] You remind me of someone. [A pause.] My sister. She's energetic, too.

[whatsupcroc]

[ Her posture shifts, so she's resting her chin on her closed fist, other arm resting on the table. Collette enjoys the sound of energetic. Energetic is something she likes being -- and that she can afford to be. ]

Someone's got to be in charge of all the boundless energy around here. [ She winks. ] What's her name?

[bearnecessities]

[A snort.] You must have that well under control then.

Her name is Sophie. She's... really loud and vibrant. The complete opposite of me and our other sister, really. [Belle misses her already.]

[whatsupcroc]

You know it!

[ She winks. ]

Sophie sounds like she's a lot of fun. You have two sisters? Lucky! I always wanted a sister. I mean, I've got a sister in law now, but it's not exactly the same thing.

[bearnecessities]

She can be. I think it's her goal to give us heart attacks, though. [Another pause before a nod.] Marguerite's the oldest. [:|a] A sister through marriage?

[whatsupcroc]

[ Collette nods. ]

My brother got married about a year after joining the Army.

[bearnecessities]

Do you like her?

[whatsupcroc]

She's nice! And my brother loves her. It's really obvious how much they care about each other.

[bearnecessities]

[She gives a small smile. Regardless of how bitter she is about that whole thing, part of her still likes the idea of ~love~] It's good to hear. Too many marriages are built out of politics rather than actual emotion. And gaining a sister is as good as always having one, I think.

[whatsupcroc]

I've only had her for two years in an every-day sense, but I totally agree. Family's family! It's one of the best and luckiest things a girl can have.

[bearnecessities]

It is. Family is a hard thing to replace.
