◑ 001 [video]
Good day, Exsilium. My name is Naoto Shirogane. [The English is formal and passable, but there's still a hint of an accent and a problem with the '-lium' that sounds more like a '-rium' that reveal this rather androgynous teenager to be a non-native speaker. ... If the name wasn't any indication, anyway.]
I must say, while I'm just to being out on the field, a war is something I have never been to before. Admittedly, this is also the first time I have heard of sentient weapons. [Stumbles over 'sentient' too. She had a hard time understanding that word when the woman who greeted her informed her of that-- that certainly wasn't part of her English vocabulary, and she had needed to carefully analyze the other words in her speech to get the gist of it.]
What I do not understand is how a weapon not from their own supply can become such a thing. Their 'technology', yes, but as far as I can tell, they have yet to do anything to my weapon.
Hmm... [Thoughtful look!] If I may-- what weapon do you have, and how has it changed, if it already has?
[Notice the teenager's not talking about the Initiative and being stuck here to do someone else's dirty work, because really, Naoto thinks it goes without saying that they're all pawns and ways to get home will be a big secret to all of them, what with the woman before being mum on that and whatnot.]
Thank you.

Unfortunately since I have only just arrived, I don't know. I intend to investigate though. [Even if her English ain't so good.]
For now I need to work on my English.

As for the weapons, I don't have a clue yet. I just got here too, but if I had to guess I would say they are using nanites.

That is definitely logical, and because we are not able to see nanites with the naked eye, attaching them to our weapons without us knowing would be easy. [It'd explain some things.]
But maybe the best way to know is to see it for ourselves.
video;
And he's about as lost as everyone else who just showed up.]
That's the spirit. Now we just have to find the right equipment.
I'm Atomic Robo by the way. Nice to meet you.

Not much of a weapon.
It used to be this-- [ he indicates a smaller circumference on the metal, away from the rectangular plates that stick out to cover a bit more area ] --big before it changed.
video;
Did you pick it from the armory, or was it with you when you arrived?
video;
I picked it out.

You will find that the development of the weapons depends on who is using them. Mine have evolved a little more to suit my moods, but nothing too overly dramatic.

I haven't noticed much of a change in it, other than that it seems to feel lighter.
We haven't had much occasion for battle, fortunately.

[Chloe's pronunciation might be a bit rough, but she's certainly not mangling it, or fretting over trying to remember the proper words.] A little young to be worrying about a weapon, aren't you?

I am no stranger around weapons, I assure you.

late but omg Naoto
[Oh look at this, or, you know, not. Because he fumbles the netbook and drops it at first. When he finally gets his act together, he's changed a bit. Not too much, but his hair is getting out of hand, and clearly hasn't been bleached in quite a while.]
I never-- Man, am I glad to see you! Or, uh, well you'd probably be better off at-- Not that I don't want to see you! I just--
Dammit.
[He just can't say anything right today, it seems. He trails off, looking embarrassed.]
EEEEEEEEEEE KANJI
[Drops her English because what in the world happened to you?! She knew for a while that his hair's been bleached but it takes time for any sort of hair coloring to come off...]
How long have you been here?
[Ignoring everything else he's said because D8]
