[ Peeta sits on a log with the recorder aimed up. The place looks pretty isolated- the wooded area of Exsilium. His eyes are hooded, and his hands keep folding and unfolding together. He looks thinner as well. He hasn't been in the city since the memory malfunctions ]
I've been thinking about it for a while, and I was wondering...is there anyone who has experience with counseling? [ a lopsided, boyish grin ] It's not the best feeling in the world, knowing you're not in charge of your own head.
[ he shifts for a bit, considering ]
Maybe next time a warning would have served everyone well. [ he's still smiling, but something dark enters his eyes ] Memories aren't the safest things to try to control.

[ he leans forward a little, his eyes have dark bags under them ]
Quiet. Not my first choice, but quiet.

Quiet can be nice. Quiet in a forest is a little weird, but still nice, I guess. There aren't all that many birds out there, are there?

[ he sighs ]
Forest, however...let's just say it's obvious I was raised in town.

⇁ action
She's lost in her own memories, enough that even her paranoid self doesn't hear Peeta until it's too late. She stumbles right into his clearing, looks up and comes to a complete stop. Her eyes are wide, a clear indication that she wasn't expecting to find him here. Hands twitch for her bow, but she manages to stop herself in time. Peeta, she wants to say, but it's not what happens] Don't--
⇁ action
Kill you?
[ he doesn't move from where he's sitting. Katniss going for a bow is not becoming an uncommon experience ]
Maybe later, sweetheart. If you can make it that long without pulling a weapon on me first.
⇁ action
Maybe - later? [It hurts, and that's evident in her reaction. They'd mad so much - well, they'd made some progress. The idea of regressing, having to painstakingly cover that ground again, is unbearable.
The only thing she wants right now is to go to him and find comfort, and she can't even have that. It's stupid, but she's tired of thinking everything through. She holds her bow out to the side, away from her body, and lets it drop on the ground.] Why wait, Peeta?
Re: ⇁ action
You just watched him. The mutts got to him and you just watched.

As unpleasant as knowing how it was done to you, and the one responsible.

We can only deal with what's left over.

[memories are a touchy subject for her.]
Perhaps frequent conversations with a like-minded individual could be of help?

[ he offers a wane smile, running a hand through his hair ]
No one's ever been killed by talking, I guess.

Talking's fine. Not exactly what I'm after, but I won't turn away conversation.

[ in her world, maybe. but alisha agrees; she doesn't like anyone else in her own head, and she'll do anything she can to prevent that from happening again. ]
