I miss home. I know that's normal, I know - I know there's nothing that can be done about it. I try to keep that in mind so it won't get to me so much. Everyone is so nice and helpful, even with everything going on. I'm very thankful, and - I would like to think I have made some friends.

[There's a pause, and he sighs softly. He suddenly isn't sure why he decided to start this feed.]

It's weird... one of the things I miss the most is hearing my language. [a little exhale, followed by a contradictory smile.] I wasn't used to speaking English for so long until I came here.

... Are all of you from English-speaking countries?

It's a weird feeling, before you get used to. I've been speaking English most of my life - along with a few other languages - but it's not what I grew up with.

Something nobody else here has even heard of. I've known it as Askani, but that's not it's 'official' name, if it even has one.

Even if this were my Earth, I don't think it would exist as the language I know yet.

Yeah. Even compared to when we are right now.

Mmm - four centuries or so. Dating can get a little inaccurate after a while.

I've been living in the 21st century for a while now. But I don't think they limit themselves too much.

I guess you could put it that way. But you time travel enough - past and future become relative terms. Both to your own chronology and that of the universe.

Once. I only really remember it from one point of view, though - one of 'me' was rather delirious at the time.

Not really. It seems strange to think of, I know, but... from one point of view, I was meeting my future self, and from the other, my past self. If we'd spoken, maybe something one of of us had said would have changed the flow of the timestream, but we didn't.

...Hmm. Well, I've always assumed it didn't because nothing changed radically right after. But it might have shifted things in some small way - time is tricky that way.

Probably. Not exactly my calling, though.

More or less.
