[it's evening, babydoll's settled on her cot. her katana and gun are next to her, waiting to be cleaned -- something she hasn't done recently -- while she's still in the clothes she came into exsilium with. she didn't want to sleep yet, and exploring the city day and night interested her. the device is held out in front of her and she offers a smile.]

I know things are bad right now, with this virus going around. If anyone needs it, I can help. I haven't come down with anything yet.

[she pauses, glancing down as if she wants to say something else. she holds back and moves on instead,]

After the virus has been rid of, I'd like a training partner. [she doesn't want to take any valued time away from the people who needed help.] I'd also be open to helping others train or people who needed help learning how to fight.

[it's going to help her bide her time as she thinks of an escape plan, or, even better, returns home after the next mission. that's what she hopes, anyway.]

[her lips part to say something similar to what she'd said to dean, but there would be no point in going over the same conversation they had as well, so she nods solemnly in response. how many other people had she become acquainted with? and how is it that she doesn't remember any of them?]

[she sighs. she knows she probably asked this question when she was, apparently, here before,]

It means "doll" in Italian.

[baby's brows go up, a tiny smile tugging at her lips. it sounds much better than the name she was given, but her name isn't something she's ashamed of.]

Well, thank you. And I'm sorry I don't remember you, I didn't -- I didn't think I would forget something like this.

[Ezio shakes his head.]

There is nothing to forgive. Many come and many go in this place.

So I've heard. Memory loss seems to be somewhat common, too.

[which isn't something she likes to hear, let alone knowing that the machine that brings them here is unpredictable. she likes knowing there's a pattern to something, especially when trying to find stability.]

Have you gone and come back at some point?

More than it should be, si. As for me, I do not believe so. If I have come and gone, none have told me so.

That's good, no one should have to go through that. Going home is a priority, but being taken back here... it's not right.

Perhaps not, but it is the priority to the people here over sending us back.

They've made that plenty clear. I just wish we had a choice in this, you know?

[she's been thrown into too many unfamiliar situations by now.]

Choice matters little to these people, but we have the choice to make it better or worse for ourselves.

[it's not a question, just a statement, something that she figured out as soon as she arrived. laws still existed here, no one could bypass them. it's all they got here, money, food, a home. their space may be vast, but they are still imprisoned.]

[Ezio believes the same, but openly rebelling would only bring attention to himself. If he wanted answers, he had to lie low and cooperate.]

Find your room and get some rest, bambola, if you can. We may not have many of these moments.

[she honestly doesn't know if sleeping is even an option right now. she would much rather explore the city. though, she'll agree, even if she's not telling the truth.]
