[ It really can’t be that hard to use this tablet, you unfold it, press a few buttons, enable some options—bam. I bet Nightwing would love getting his hands on something like this. It takes Conner less than a minute to figure out which button enables what during which time he talks to himself at first: ]

I can’t be the only one here. And why would she thank me? I don’t like this.

[ Then he realizes it’s recording (whoops). He clears his throat. In any case— ]

... M’gann? [ Wait. She's the last person he should be trying to get a hold of. ] Nightwing? Can you hear this?

If you can hear this, I think it’s important that we group up and figure out what exactly’s going on around here.

[ They’ll know it’s him by his voice he’s sure. And hey - if they don't pick up on his transmission then someone else likely will. ]

[M'gann freezes when she hears this, honestly not expecting him to be here let alone ask for her. It takes her a moment to respond, though when she does, she tries to keep the surprise and worry out of her voice. Success is questionable, especially to someone with super hearing.]

Conner? You're here, too?

[ Oh there she is. He enables his own video option, his expression is guarded despite the relief he feels at seeing her in one piece and safe. ]

Looks like it. Is it just us?

From what I can tell, we're it.

[She bites her lower lip, considering.]

But you're right. We do need to meet up.

So the others weren't brought over but we're stuck here. Great.

[ Real great. ]

All right. Where are you now?

[Her expression sobers now, and puts on her game face. The inevitable arguing could wait, right?]

Meet me outside the Hold, it should be easier that way. I'm sending you an image.

[And they both know she means a mental one.]

[ It can never wait. It should be their top priority.

Conner receives the image in crystal clear detail. There's no wince, no muttering, only a very slight brow twitch once the connection is established. He's already on the move. ]

I'm on my way.

[ Annnnnnnd the feed is cut. ]

[Soon enough, M'gann's waiting outside in the specified location, her netbook left back in her room. If she needed to reach him, she would, but for the moment, she waits in silence]

[ Ten minutes later and he's arriving, his own netbook folded and in his pocket. Conner spots her as he takes in the surrounding area; he doesn't wave and he doesn't say anything until he's approaching her. ]

Okay. Now what?

[She seems a little hurt by his cold attitude, but only for a second before her neutral, mission oriented expression takes its place. Sigh.]

Now we need to figure out what to do. We can't contact Nightwing or the League, and as far as I can see, we're stuck here unless we're sent on a mission by the Initiative. As far as I can tell, things are at a standstill when it comes to progress with this war, which means we could be here for a long time to come.
