01 :: action/voice
[There isn't even a knock at the door.]
[Homura enters her new living arrangements, courtesy of an Initiative she couldn't scrounge together enough energy to give a damn about, not even acknowledging either of the other tenants or their possessions. If her roommates see her, she doesn't acknowledge them in the slightest; still dressed in uniform, bow gripped tight in hand, all that she means to do is make sure the area is secure. She finds the unoccupied room and claims it, locking the door, and investigating it from every angle for hiding and escape spots. Satisfied, she resumes civilian form, and adjusts the bright red ribbon tied in her dark hair. Now sitting on the edge of the bed, she takes the tablet in both hands; first order of business, see what names are there.]
[Her eyes narrow; her lips thin.]
[To the community at large, she sends a simple message, just in voice, which sounds monotonous and sleepy.]
What did the Initiative not tell us in introduction that we should be aware of?
[But to a select few, she sends a second message, with warmer words spoken no less crisply.]
...we need to meet.

[But to a select few, she sends a second message, with warmer words spoken no less crisply.]
...we need to meet.
voice;
Why. Honestly, she doesn't even bother to make it private - that would involve paying attention to what Homura says, and all Sayaka cares about is the fact she's here at all. ]
What are you doing back here?
voice;
I was brought here, the same as you.
voice;
voice;
[Her attitude is disheartening. It makes her worry for what Madoka thinks of her, what she did and doesn't remember doing.]
voice;
[ For a moment it looks like Sayaka might just hang up, but... she remembers what happened last time. She can't just avoid Homura forever, and from the little she does know, talking might not be a terrible idea. ]
... But if you're meeting with the others, I'm coming.
voice --> video
[As a token gesture, she switches the feed, revealing herself in just a their school uniform, deep bags under her eyes, more vulnerable than she was happy abou.]
no subject
I've been doing that. [ But there's a touch of self-deprecation in her voice; she hasn't been able to keep Madoka from fighting altogether, and she feels like a horrible friend because of it. ] If I tell you anything, it'll be for her sake, not yours.
no subject
[It's all that matters anyway. Her face sets into its expressionless mask.]
no subject
[ She lets the threat hang. Not even being roommates for a while can cool her suspicions off, especially when Homura's apparently forgotten everything about before. ]
no subject
[But she hangs her head in her hands, fingers curling against her brow. Attempts to turn over a new leaf, it seems, were and will remain utterly futile.]
voice;
Ewerytime they announce they're plannin' somethin' expect like ten things to go wrong at least.
[Exaggerating? Totally.]
voice;
Elaborate.
voice;
I mean we're talkin' towerin' ower the city huge.
So naturally we'd to do ewerythin'. Ain't the first time somethin' has gone wrong either; they nearly erased half of us from existence once from fuckin' with time.
Don't trust 'em if you're plannin' on gettin' anywhere.
voice;
[That they too interfere with time is intriguing. Unwelcoming news as well. But she takes the information with a hard swallow, and certain key words with particular interest. The way he said humans...as if he wasn't one.]
Your name.
voice;
voice;
voice;
Is giwin' your name first such a hassle for you, or somethin'?
voice;
My name's not relevant to this conversation.
voice;
Like that makes any sense at all.
late and still voice;
[And yet somehow she tries to make that sound like a threat.]
voice
[ She doesn't sound like she expects an answer, but she's definitely open to one. In the meantime she experiments with switching screens, disconnecting the feed periodically in the process until she gets a response. ]
voice
[But the question's intrigued her. She waits until there's a stable connection before posing a question herself.] You've just arrived here, haven't you.
voice
voice
[It takes her a moment to decide if it was an appropriate question or not, and how much she did in fact care about the answer.] Have you been alright here?
voice
I've gotten along. I learn new things and meet new people every day, so it's a matter of time until I'm acquainted. Did you just arrive as well?
voice
..it seems transports can be sent home and then summoned back without memories of the time before. Are you certain this is the first time you've set foot here?
voice
voice (private);
( there are a lot of questions that Madoka wants to ask, but the question itself gets the most of her attention for the time being. ) Oh, mm. We can meet, is there somewhere you had in mind.
voice (private); 1/2
[Her hands are shaking, just hearing the voice, and there's no other choice but to put the tablet down and away and take several deep breaths. Tears threaten to fall.]
[She had seen the name in the contacts, but to know she's here...]
voice (private); 2/2
Wherever is convenient. This city is still new to me.
Please..let me know what is best.
voice (private);
( so she really doesn't remember... ) Have you found where you're staying? We could meet there.
voice (private);
voice (private);
voice (private);
[But... She wants to say more. A lot more. Bu the words all try to get out at once and form a lump in her throat.]
How are you doing?
voice (private);
What about you, Homura-chan? How... how are you? ( she's curious too, to just how much Homura remembers. )
voice (private);
[One question she never likes or wants to answer. Especially when its to Madoka and the situation's this confusing and fucked up.]
..fine.
voice (private);
( a pause as she hums thoughtfully. ) Um, if you'd like though. I can go ahead and leave, so we can meet up?
voice (private);
How...long have you been here, Kaname?
voice (private);
voice (private);
[The murmurs of guilt begin to cloud her feelings.]
voice (private);
You included, Homura-chan.
video;
There's a flicker of confusion when she notes that the invitation had been extended to Sayaka, but the moment passes.] Figured you were gonna show up again sooner or later.
[She rubs at the back of her neck, bites down on the lollipop in her mouth.] Where d'you wanna meet?
voice;
voice;
sorry for late - voice;
[Sayaka will be another conversation for another day, but an important one.]
ditto! voice;
[And a little louder:] If you're gonna meet up, I'll be around.
