What the hell just happened to us all? I don't know about you, but I don't exactly find the idea of having to murder my friends to keep them from killing me the ideal situation in training. I don't care if it was a simulated situation or not.

Welcome to the fine political side of every war. It's not the bigwigs who deliver the inspirational speeches, but those who actually lead into battle.

All the more reason I'm glad I was able to avert the last few wars people have tried to stir up. I'd prefer to leave armies and soldiers to those qualified to lead, and stick to slaying monsters and mad conquerors.

I prefer my armies and soldiers and capable leaders who aren't idiots.

Perhaps we should petition for a change in leadership.

I'd say our vote wouldn't matter.

Once more elective leadership has failed me. I shall have to fall back on my old alternative, superior firepower.

One could hope, though large operations like this seem a magnet for incompetent underlings.

That's something we'll never actually avoid, but this reeks of sabotage more than incompetence.
