Ooh, I think I got it to work!  The little light's blinking. That's like the universal sign for 'working', isn't it? [ the young girl, clad in a quite.. quirky outfit peers at the camera on the device quizzically. ] That means I'm being recorded, right? Well, a magician has to keep up appearances, so! Hello, Citizens of Exsilium! My name's Trucy Wright, Ace Magician! Maybe you've heard of me! Or maybe you've heard of daddy, that usually seems to be the case. [ she bounces on her heels a bit. ] I don't really know what's going on, but while I'm stuck here, let's have some fun, okay?

Let's start with an icebreaker! [ Trucy holds up a deck of redbacked playing cards. She then spreads all 52 out in her hand. ] Pick a card, any card!

How am I supposed to pick a card when I can't even touch the cards, Trucy Wright? [ That name felt like poison on her lips, but perhaps this was all just a coincidence. Right, Wright? ]

[ well that was a question she didn't really expect. Geez, this lady seems to take things seriously!! ]

I just figured you could point to the one you wanted! But it's fine if you don't want to play. [ she seemed like she wasn't interested in icebreaking.. ] Usually, people only say my name like that when they know my daddy.

[ ??? there was something off about this lady, she could tell. ]

Okay! Let me shuffle the deck. [ She condenses the deck, then begins to rapidly shuffle it. Then, she spreads the cards again.. one short. ] Hm, I wonder where it could have gone? [ she looks vaguely confused, but if Franziska is paying attention, she'll notice a card sticking out of Trucy's hat. ]

Is that card supposed to be on your hat or did I just ruin the magic trick for you?

In my hat?

[ Trucy looks up, and then pulls the card out.. resulting in the whole deck spewing out like a soda. ]

Tah dah! Making you pick a card was just a red herring! [ get it. get it. ] They gave me a special deck of cards when I got here, so I'm learning some new tricks with them! How'd you like that one?

[ ... What even. ]

Magic tricks? Seriously? [ It just seems... inappropriate somehow. Sayaka's curiosity gets the better of her before long, though. ] Uhhh, what about that one?

[ Second from the left, go! ]

Seriously! It's my thing. [ she continues to bounce. ] Hm, good choice! Now watch.

[ she condenses the deck, then shuffles it. When she spreads then again, Sayaka may notice the slot where the card was previously is empty now. ]

Oops! I wonder what happened to it?

[ it's on Sayaka's head, of course. Let's see how long before she notices. ]

Eh? It really vanished? [ Inspecting the feed now just to make sure... ] Ahhh, that's so cool! It's like the start of a real magic show or something!

[ Yes, Trucy, you've entered a new realm of dumb with this one. ]

[ that's exciting. she's well on her way to being a pro. ]

That's because I'm a real magician! [ geez Sayaka didn't you get that. ] Why don't you look on the top of your head?

[ Collette blinks once.

Blinks twice.

And then grins at the silly little camera. ]

[pantyraid]

I guess you could pick two, if you really wanted to.

[ not like it really matters, considering the nature of her trick.

But she couldn't let that be known. ]

Right! We'll I've picked two.

[ Without motioning to the camera. ]

So now what!

[pantyraid]

Okay! [ Trucy condenses the deck. ] Are you picturing the cards right now?

[whatsupcroc]

[ She nods, hands folded in her lap -- below camera level. ]

Clear as can be!

[ An Ace of Diamonds and the Eight of Spades. ]

[pantyraid]

Hm? What's that on your ear?

[ seemingly changing the subject, she points. There, Collette will find those very cards! IT'S MAGIC ]

On my ear?

[ Collette reaches for her ear, feeling something unexpected perched right behind the shell. What in the... plucking the two cards from their temporary holding place, she brings them around to look at them.

It's only icing on a delicious cake to see numbers she'd been thinking about. ]

Oh, wow! How'd you do that? Is this real magic, or the stage trick stuff? I hope it's real. This is so cool!

[pantyraid]

Of course it's real! Ace Magician Trucy Wright wouldn't deceive you!

[ truth be told, it was real magic. Or at least, that's what Trucy thought: she'd been given a deck of magic cards, free to wrought chaos (or just fun tricks) with them. What a wonderful gift! ]

I've got a lot more where that's coming from! Wait till you see one of my shows.

You're just here, and you're already planning on putting on shows?

[ Collette's not sure what to do with the cards, flipping them around between her index and middle fingers. Can Trucy magic them back? Half her attention is on the cards, waiting for them to disappear. ]

When's your first? I'm already looking forward to it, Trucy! I'm Collette.

[ Said with a half shrug as her attention shifts to the camera. ]

You brought the cards with you from home?

[pantyraid]

No set date yet, I still need to talk it over with the venue!

[ and find a venue, for that matter. Trucy sees her eyeing the cards, so as not to ruin the novelty of the magic, she ignores them for now. ]

I'll let you know when my show is, though! I guess with this communication thing, I can just send out a newsletter, right?

[ a shake of the head. ] When I got here, all my equipment was missing! Even my panties! [ her magic panties, that is. that can be taken multiple ways.. ] But they were nice enough to give me this deck! I still would love my panties back, though.

Yeah, send one out on here and all of us pulled in by the Initiative will know! For anyone else I'm thinking classic flyers is the best bet. Then after your blazing successful opening night? Word of mouth!

[ Ah, so the cards are new. With how it's phrased, she is inclined to believe that's the "weapon" Trucy's inadvertently chosen. It's hard imagining the Initiative handing anything over willie-nillie without it relating back to what they wanted out of their forcible guests.

Collette has no idea what to make of the panties remark. Maybe they were like someone else's locky socks, only... underwear? And meant for magical support?

Was Trucy wandering around Commando?

... Did she check herself for panties often?

Did Collette really care to keep pondering on the nature of what Trucy may or may not be wearing?! ]

[ She cares just enough to be curious and barely restraining her disbelieving laughter. ]

Wha— Of course not! What would make you think that? Daddy always says a proper lady doesn't do things like that. [ a pointed shake of the head. It takes her a second to realize her earlier statement could be confusing. ] Oh, you must be talking about my magic panties being missing! No, that's my signature prop!
