[The video switches on easily to show Isa looking at the screen, more or less expressionless.]

Nice kidnappers we've got here. They provide weapons, lodgings, and computers so we can communicate. Probably would've been nicer if they'd asked before the whole kidnapping thing, though.

[A slight smile appears on his face, then disappears almost as quickly.]

I've got a question. Do these things save conversations? It seems like that could be useful. You know, so we could all relive the complete lack of an explanation we got when we arrived.

Anyway. Looks like this is gonna be quite an adventure.

Okay, fine, so the thing with the cat is it scratched some weird wood thing that turned out to be special for some reason so they grabbed him and we split and Anders wanted to go get the cat back but everybody else said they weren't going to start a big fight just for a cat, so --

[He pauses for breath.]

-- I kind of tried to sneak in and they caught me and then everybody else came and busted us both out.

So... you tried to catch a cat to avoid a big fight, but you ended up getting caught yourself and causing an even bigger fight?

[Pause.]

Yeah, sounds like you. Did you at least come up with a plan before sneaking in?

It was just a couple of guys who had a cat in this basket cage thing! I didn't need a plan.

[except for how he got caught in the end, but moving on! Moving on!]

...I would've been fine except I made too much noise sneaking in. I'm getting better at that, though.

You're getting better at not making noise?

[Utter. Disbelief. Not that anyone but Lea could tell, given Isa's general muted expressions.]

Now that I'd like to see.

[Shoulder. Punch. You jerk.] Shut up! I'm getting better at sneaking.

[...okay, maybe he missed this too. He relaxes into a sheepish grin, planting his hand on his hip instead.] 'Cause, I mean. If they actually send me to the right place next time, I better not screw up.

[He knows that's the Shoulder Punch of Friendship, and he smiles a little.]

I don't know why they'd need us to help with anything, but I guess if we're here, we might as well try not to screw it up too badly.

[Yeah, it pretty much is.

Lea smiles back.]

Come on. With you and me both? We'll get things solved for them so fast they'll give us medals before we get home!

[This place isn't so bad. It might be fun, anyway.]

You mean they haven't given you a medal already?

Any minute now. Seriously.

[His grin widens, and he looks up and down the hallway.]

C'mon, Isa, let me show you around here! There's a ton of stuff to see.

All right. Might as well take advantage of the fact that you got here first.

[Which is totally unfair, by the way.]

It seems like a weird place.

I'm practically an expert by now.

[Hey, it was kind of tough being stuck here without anybody he knew! So he's entirely within his rights to milk it for bragging material.]

...Yeah, it's weird, all right. Most people here haven't even heard of Radiant Garden.

All right, expert, teach me all you know.

[Calm and subtly mocking. He is glad that Lea's around to show him the ropes, though.]

I've gotten that impression. It's a totally different world.

There was this one kid who'd visited... but I think he's gone now.

Hope he went home. I made him promise he'd let us ride in his ship next time he came by our world!

-- [Elbowing Isa in the side.] I think the first step is getting you a room! C'mon. Then I can show you the market!

A ship? You always find the weirdest people to make friends with.

[Also the coolest. No way he's gonna say that, though. He rubs his side where Lea elbowed him, as if it actually hurt.]

They assigned me somewhere to stay, I guess, but I don't know who any of the other people there are.

Yeah, a spaceship! He said he'd been to a ton of different worlds.

[He briefly frowns, not sure if Isa's faking or not, before putting a hand on his hip.] Come on, I didn't hit you that hard.

-- What're their names? Maybe I met some of them!

That's kind of cool. He had his own spaceship, and he was just a kid?

[Wow, kind of jealous, here! And he smiles a little.] Hey, you don't know your own strength anymore, Lea.

Roxy and Tephra, apparently.

I know, right? Totally unfair! [His eyes are shining. And -- hey, why not: he reaches out to sling an arm around Isa's shoulders again. It makes a good handle for dragging him in the direction of the dorms.]

Roxy... Hey, I think I met her when some kid she knew left. She seemed pretty nice!

[He grudgingly submits to the arm around his shoulders. Not that he actually minds, of course. Isa lets himself be dragged along, looking around a little as they go.]

I wonder if they're both girls? It'd be kind of weird to live with a bunch of girls. Especially ones I'm not related to. Who are your roommates?

We've got separate bedrooms, so it's not that weird... Actually, both my roommates are girls too. Feferi and Chloe.

Huh, really? And they don't get annoyed with you leaving stuff all over?

Hey! [Okay, that's a valid question.]

...anyway, no, they're cool with it. I just have to pick it up myself sometime.

I guess I'll have to meet your roommates sooner or later. Let them know how to handle you.

You better not try and convince them to dump water on me to wake me up.

[...even if it works, no. Just no.]

Oh, come on, I wouldn't do that.

[Not now that Lea is expecting it, anyway.]

So can we get reassigned if we ask?

I've never tried asking, but it's not like they check to make sure we're in our rooms or anything. So we can just talk to our roommates and see if any of them wants to switch!
