Can I just say that being an adult is pretty awesome? Because let's face it, puberty? Not fun the first time, a hell of a lot less fun the second time around. Or maybe that's just the left over aches from the sped up growing pains talking.
Anyway, normal request here among the sea of crazy that has been the last few days. No offense to most of you-some of you probably deserve being mocked and laughed at-but I'm thinking most of us could use a shred of the mundane and average for just a little bit.
I'm looking for a library and a junk yard, not necessarily in that order. Being grounded is not sitting well with my delicate sensibilities right now and the sooner that gets fixed, the happier I'm gonna be.

Yeah, and where would we go? [She goes quiet for a moment, running her fingers through her hair.] You think this is our future?
no subject
I dunno, to blow up some United Earth buildings? [He gets snappy for a second there, let's out a sigh and adjusts his hat. Nope, this isn't what he's supposed to be doing.] I'm pretty sure this isn't our Earth but at least we're trying to do something.
no subject
Yeah, I can see that going well for us. [Shepard laughs, basically just ignoring his snappiness. Whatever, Joker.] We need to see what sort of hardware they're packing before we blow them up. [aka she's not opposed to the idea.] I hope it's not.
[A shrug.] You need some help?
no subject
We've done more impossible things than blowing up a building. [No comment on her not commenting on his attitude here.] Well, jet packs and guns for one. Unless that's standard handouts on both sides.
Kinda hard to imagine us making so much progress back home, then backpeddling on all of it. [He pauses, nods.] Any chance you feel like doing heavy lifting?
no subject
Within the limitations of our own universe or whatever. [:I] I kind of want a jet pack, now that you mention it.
Yeah, well, it's been about a thousand years. A lot can happen in the span of a year. Imagine a millennium passing us by. [Her voice is low as she says that, soft. As though she's thought about this a lot during her sleepless nights.] You need it lifted, I'm your girl.

Yeah, and this is supposed to be the future. You can't tell me that there isn't some sweet stuff capable of wiping these guys out somewhere. [:D] I'll leave you to it. I like having my knees in tact, thanks.
But if this was our universe, there'd still be left over stuff, right? Mass relays don't just disappear, even with the reapers rolling through. [Trying to be kind of reassuring here.]

Have you noticed that despite it being the future, they're not... completely advanced? [It's been bothering her. Like humanity reached the top of the hill and then slowly began to roll back down the other side.] I'd still say this was pre-contact humanity. [She rolls her eyes.] Stick in the mud.
Maybe, but it's been a thousand years. Maybe they just don't know about them anymore.
no subject
Would they have left any of us behind? Unless it was to harvest-[Ugh, nope. Not thinking about that. LET'S MOVE ON.] I mean, they said they were going to wipe us off the map, right?
