[Facilier has been busy since his fortuitous arrival a month ago. He's been keeping an eye on people, both on the tablet and off, quietly getting a feel for the place. People here won't be as easy to fleece as they were back in New Orleans, but it doesn't matter. If he plays it right, he has all the time in the world here to get his footing somewhere good. Now, he's aware he's going to have to do some advertising. Word of mouth is well and good, but he'd rather people know where to find him, should they be in need of his particular...services.

He still isn't used to using the tablet beyond its voice function. At least with that, he can pretend it's a telephone instead of some device that belongs in a moving picture. He's nothing if not a good salesman, though, and this time...this time he needs the video. The screen is static-y at first, the good doctor watching an unseen person trying to get the thing to work]

No, I don't think throwing it at the wall will help.

[Oh. There we go. Facilier offers the camera a wide smile, as his shadow floats from somewhere off screen to hover beside him]

Bonjou and good day, fellow Transports! I'm still fairly new here, and figure it's about time I introduce myself. [A flamboyant bow to the camera, this thing better be working] Doctor Facilier, at your most humble service. I would have introduced myself sooner, but I've been busy establishing myself in this new little 'ol world of ours.

[The shadow moves offscreen again and suddenly the tablet is floating about in mid-air, showing off the little one-room home that Facilier has converted into his Emporium.]

So if any of y'all are in need of potions, charms, or even have your future read, don't you ever hesitate to come find me. [A piece of paper with a scrawled address hovers in front of the screen for a few moments, before it and the tablet are put back down to face Facilier once more]

After all, I'm real interested in helping y'all out. That's what this should all be about, right? Givin' each other a hand while we deal with all this other mess concerning the United Earth and what have you. I'd hate to sit back with my particular talents and not have them be of some use to the folk living here.

[One more friendly smile for good measure] So I hope to be seein' some of you soon.

[He turns the first card over, there stands Elmer, in a jester's outfit. Inwardly, Facilier winces. He can already see the signs of the world Carol and Christopher inhabit, and he knows nothing good can be in this spread.]

Ya'll were born into a cult, where you suffered greatly at the hands of people who should have been taking care of you. When you eventually got out of that situation, you decided to focus on making other people happy. By any means necessary. [Creepy, but possibly useful.]

A while down the line, ya'll summoned a demon with a bunch of other alchemists, and got yourself immortal life in the process. You've continued through existence, trying to get others to smile and sticking by your dear friend. [Huey. Him again.]

[As Facilier read the card, the smile slipped from Elmer's face - but more in surprise than anything else. Maybe this guy really was legit! It's possible he heard stuff about him from Huey or Monica, but it wasn't likely.

Elmer gave him a little smile, resting his chin on a hand as he listened.]

You got all that from one little card? That's pretty amazing!

[Facilier offers a wide smile]

What can I say? It's a gift, I've been real lucky to have it. Would ya'll like me to continue to your present?

May as well! You've piqued my curiosity. Alright, what other sort of secrets do you have about me?

[He turns the middle card over, this one, too is upside down, Elmer stood under a big shining star. Above that, shapes that look horribly like UE ships hang there like dark shadows.]

Recently the Initiative offered to find a way to send folks home. You volunteered, and they chose you. They sent you back with some volunteers, but it turned out there was a spy in the fold. The United Earth attacked and destroyed your world in the process.

[Well.] Bet Christopher and Carol ain't that thrilled about that.

[Now, he's curious, though. And without even asking first, he turns over the last card. It's blank. Completely and utterly.]

I've never had that happen before. [Well, except on himself, but that's a different thing.]

[His eyes widened at that.] Eh? Carol, too? Little Carol? Well what do you know! It's a small universe after all. And no, Christopher didn't handle the news very well. [Even though Chris tried waving it off, it was a nice try. You can get fake smiles in front of Elmer and get away with it.]

[He blinks at the blank card, though, before laughing.]

Well, what do you know! I'm quite the mystery.

Ain't it just. She was one of the first people to welcome me to this place. [And then almost ruined her life, as you do.]

If I were you, I'd be worried. Gettin' a card like that.

Hmm, I guess I should be, eh? I supposed if I were to, say, die for good, I'd get the Death card or something, right? And I'm sure you don't keep blank cards in your deck... unless you do just to mess with people.

[He sure doesn't seem worried, but he is thinking on it.]

Not always. Death can mean two very different things, depending on how it's sittin' in the deck.

[He'll pull the deck out again, and instantly pulls out the Death card. It's as generic as tarot cards come, no face on it at all that Elmer would recognise, just a skeleton on a horse.]

But to put your mind at ease, here it is.

Oh, I see. Well. Have you ever drawn a blank card like that before? Or maybe we can try again to see what happens.

I haven't. Could be somethin' to do with your world bein' destroyed. Ain't never had someone come to me with that particular problem, for obvious reasons.

[He gives a thoughtful hum and pulls the cards back into the deck, shuffling quickly.]

Can't hurt to try. [After a shuffle, he'll spread the deck out again.] Still got to be three, I'm afraid. They work the way they do, ain't no changing that.
