Attention, transports! The extremely beautiful and talented Kate Bishop, aka. the wonderful Hawkeye, is having a birthday party as of the 28th in our living quarters, and you are invited! There will be drinks! There will be music! There will be snacks! (I promise they will be safe, Loki.) Presents are not required but your presence is.

To help you get in the party spirit, I have also put together accompanying Birthday EP, downloadable for your convenience. It would be longer, but I am limited to what I can "rip" off my iPod, since my full library is on a harddrive on a ship which isn't here.

Miss Bishop failed to mention her birthday before.

I am not sure if Miss Bishop thinks any of us would remember or that it is worth the trouble of bringing it up or organizing something, but I did, and I do.

Do you expect she will appreciate your efforts?

I do. [She makes a note to kiss Noh-Varr later for making it seem like she didn't request a very specific birthday invitation. Or hint. It was mostly a hint.]

The other stuff seemed more important, too. There is that.

Did you collect all these ahead of time? I'm impressed. That's a lot of birthday.

If she didn't, I would just try something else until she did.

I knew that sooner or later I would have an occasion to use them. And by chance, the first occasion appropriate was your birthday.

I would think of it more as "trial and error", but if that's what you would call it, then I suppose the answer is yes.

If she is clever — which she is, no doubt — she will play this to her advantage. [And by this, Fee means him.]

Kate is very clever. So in that case, maybe I should give up playing hard to get, since I am probably destined to lose.

We'll not speak of safety in snacks.

Instead it's my obligation to make sure that every large robotic fellow receives invitation! It'll be fun!

Not just friend. This is Noh-Varr, my boyfriend and teammate.

Yeah, but if I say that, it just sounds wrong.

So it came after Teddy's party.

That was some good planning. I'm almost glad that Billy's birthday isn't between Teddy's and mine.

I'd never given much thought to birthday music before then.

[He hadn't necessarily started getting really in depth on his musical explorations when he was with Annie to think about making BIRTHDAY EPs.]

I like Billy. I would gladly have thrown him a party, or helped Teddy do it. But it wouldn't be as special.

[There'd be no birthday sex. Just regular sex.]

I love rock! I was going to procure speakers and try to DJ myself as best as I could but live music sounds even better. Do you need me to get you anything?
