[ 'i promised somebody i'd make sure you did'. he thinks he knows who that someone is. he shifts on the ground, an arm across his eyes. the pup climbs back on top of him and whines, nosing his arm, making the thoughtful frown disappear.

can't be sad with puppies around. ]
