[It takes Estelle a little tinkering to get used to the idea of the tablet. But she thinks she sort of gets the idea, managing to open up a video feed.]

Oh! There, it seems like it's working now. [It's almost like seeing Rita working with her blastia research a little....

[She pulls back a little from peering closely at the tablet, smiling almost triumphantly at having figured it out for the most part and giving a small wave.]

Hello everyone! I guess I'm one of the newer arrivals and my name is Estellise. Oh, but you can just call me 'Estelle'. I might not be quite as aware on the situation as others who have been here longer, but I'll help as best I can. War is a terrible thing and I'd like to do my best to prevent it escalating if possible. I've done some fighting back home and I wouldn't like for things to get too out of hand, with children or civilians getting hurt and caught up in this.

[She's worried there, obviously upset at the situation from what she has gathered. It's not quite as dangerous as back home with the threat of the Adephagos, but even so, this is still serious and it seems like they are bringing in a lot of people to help out the Initiative.]

Though I guess all of this might take a bit of....getting used to. This is quite different from Zaphias back home. I can heal, so if there is some sort of clinic or something I'd like to offer my help if I can.

Oh! I'm not sure if there are any books here but I'd still like to hear some stories! I think this is a wonderful chance to learn so much with people from such different places! I've never heard of 'Earth' before I came here so I'd love to hear more about it.

I wanted to also thank everyone that helped me when I first got here too. I think I'm getting used to things here now.

And....I'm sorry if Yuri caused anyone any trouble. It's...not necessarily his fault but trouble sort of seems to follow him sometimes.

[A light, almost sheepish smile. She knows what Yuri can be like at times and even unintentionally how often he ends up in the middle of things.]

Perhaps you should check into the Infirmary and see if your assistance is needed. I'm sure they do need the help, though.

I'd still like to learn more about how your powers work, just for comparison against what I can do, sometime or other.

But for practical use... Yeah, the Infirmary can always use more good healers.

The infirmary. [Estelle gives a nod and smile.] Thank you! I'll have to find it and ask. It's the least I could do. I can fight, but I'm not as good as Yuri or Flynn.

I'm not sure it's....quite the same here in regards to my healing. I didn't need my staff for it back home. But I guess I could show you sometime if you wanted.

[She listens and gives a nod.] Thank you! I figure it can't hurt to at least ask and see if they need more help. In a war with fighting going on, I'm sure they could use more people.

There are a lot of people with the skills necessary to fight, but there always seems to be a shortage of healers in times like these. [ brief throat clearing ] It's good to see your enthusiasm, all the same.

[Carol is pinged by stories.

She sets the tablet on her lap so she doesn't have to hold it, since her arm's still healing from wounds she got earlier in the week.]

I happen to know a lot of stories! Depending on what your interests are, I'm sure I could think of something...

But um, you've really never heard of Earth before?

[ fighting. civilians. heal.

it doesn't take much to understand she's not your average citizen even before she mentions earth like it's a novel thing. ]

Stories. Of what sort?

A shortage? But that can't be good....

[There is a pause as she purses her lips before basically fist pumping the air, looking determined.]

You do? I'd love to hear them!

[She pauses to consider which ones might be of most interest when the question distracts her, shaking her head and looking almost sheepish.]

Ah, no. I hadn't, not before I arrived here. But it seems like some people here are from Earth, from what I gather.

What sort....oh! Do you know any fairy tales? Or your home, where you are from?

[Estelle does have a particular fondness for fairy tales, though she reads more or less whatever she can get her hands on, thus is able to memorize and quote various books.]

If there's one thing I've learned from being here these last few months, it's that it seems that there's a lot of people that come from different places. If you don't mind me asking, what's it like where your from?

And what sort of stories are you interested in? It's mostly fairy tales that I know by heart. I really wish I had more books...

That's what I hear, yes! It's exciting to learn about so many different places! And apparently we get to travel a bit here too! Where I'm from, I guess I didn't really see a lot of it until I met Yuri. But even if there were some troubles, even if it wasn't perfect, it was home. And I'm sure even without the blastia we'll figure something out. Other ways to do things, to keep the monsters out of our towns and cities.

[A pause.]

....Oh! Sorry. You probably don't even know what blastia are. I must just be confusing you. Rita would be so much better explaining about the blastia than me though. But it....it could do a lot of things! We used them as barriers to keep out monsters from areas where people live, we used them to help with water in fountains, to increase our abilities in battle...

[She gives a sheepish smile, trying her best to explain. But then the mention of fairy tales. She all but lights up at hearing that!]

I love fairy tales! I'd love to hear some from your home.

I could provide you with either.

[ there's a smile in his tone, easy and almost kind, even when he adds - ] Although you'd forgive me, I hope, if I presume that you don't seem the type for sad stories.

Hate to break it to you princess, but the Initiative drags just as many civilians and kids into this as anyone else. Things are already out of hand.

... So you're missing something here - like a resource in the air or something - that was needed for it?

Sounds kind of like Incarnum to me. But they don't cast spells, so that can't be it. I don't think.

If you know the basics of fighting, training to be a combat medic could be useful, too. I mean, I have a few basic cure wounds spells, but an expert healer...

Well, the blastia does affect the aer, it's why we are working to change things so we don't rely on the blastia anymore. But..my healing didn't rely on my blastia. I'm not really sure how to explain it, exactly. Rita would probably be better at it.

A combat medic? Someone who fights and goes into battle to help as well? Maybe.

[If Yuri would let her, that is. He and Flynn are undoubtedly going to be protective of her in this sort of situation. They would probably prefer for her to stay safe back at the infirmary where they know she would be safe.]

How do you know I'm a princess?

[Because she is fairly certain she hasn't come out and said that yet. Although it is possible this man heard about her through Yuri or Flynn.]

I know. That is why I want to help. To protect the children and civilians.

Really? I'd love to hear them!

[There's an almost sheepish and contemplative look before she eventually nods.]

Happier stories are nice. Sad ones can be too though. I'm just not sure sad ones are what I or anyone else needs to hear right now.

What? I don't- you trying to say you're actually a princess?

Christ almighty. Well, I didn't know that, but I suppose it was a lucky guess on my part.

So I'm not the only one who hasn't heard of Earth before now.

[Of course not, but it's a decent opener as anything else. This girl, she seems so honest and bright, and it's interesting.]

...Well, I can help! I mean, I have been trained by knights. And I can heal. So I'm sure I can find some way to help out. Besides, it doesn't seem like we exactly had a choice about this.

[She shakes her head in answer to the question. Really, she is just curious about stories from these other worlds, regardless of whether they are fiction or not.]

I don't mind. Whatever stories you want to share are fine!

Interesting and different from my world. Sorcerers can't normally cast cure spells...
