[It takes Estelle a little tinkering to get used to the idea of the tablet. But she thinks she sort of gets the idea, managing to open up a video feed.]

Oh! There, it seems like it's working now. [It's almost like seeing Rita working with her blastia research a little....

[She pulls back a little from peering closely at the tablet, smiling almost triumphantly at having figured it out for the most part and giving a small wave.]

Hello everyone! I guess I'm one of the newer arrivals and my name is Estellise. Oh, but you can just call me 'Estelle'. I might not be quite as aware on the situation as others who have been here longer, but I'll help as best I can. War is a terrible thing and I'd like to do my best to prevent it escalating if possible. I've done some fighting back home and I wouldn't like for things to get too out of hand, with children or civilians getting hurt and caught up in this.

[She's worried there, obviously upset at the situation from what she has gathered. It's not quite as dangerous as back home with the threat of the Adephagos, but even so, this is still serious and it seems like they are bringing in a lot of people to help out the Initiative.]

Though I guess all of this might take a bit of....getting used to. This is quite different from Zaphias back home. I can heal, so if there is some sort of clinic or something I'd like to offer my help if I can.

Oh! I'm not sure if there are any books here but I'd still like to hear some stories! I think this is a wonderful chance to learn so much with people from such different places! I've never heard of 'Earth' before I came here so I'd love to hear more about it.

I wanted to also thank everyone that helped me when I first got here too. I think I'm getting used to things here now.

And....I'm sorry if Yuri caused anyone any trouble. It's...not necessarily his fault but trouble sort of seems to follow him sometimes.

[A light, almost sheepish smile. She knows what Yuri can be like at times and even unintentionally how often he ends up in the middle of things.]

[Yeah...... he's not going to mention the part about him being mind controlled to kidnap teenagers, and now he has said teenagers consoling him.]

Nothing happened. Just missions and whatever the hell this war is.

Are you sure? If so, that's....good to hear, Yuri.

[You really don't think she could find out by someone else mentioning something, Yuri? Really?]

What, you sound like you expected a different answer.

[He'll keep it as hush hush as he can.]

I just....I guess I can't help worrying sometimes, that's all. And well...you, we do kind of end up in trouble a lot back home. That's all.

Hey, how much trouble do you think I get in?

[There's a very apparent pause then--]

Don't answer that.

[A light giggle at that, but she smiles.]

Okay. I won't. Just so long as you're okay. Can you tell me about some of these missions? I mean, they're a way we can help, right? Without necessarily fighting?

There are, but I don't like 'em. Going through time and messing with some other world's history? It doesn't feel right. Not like we were ever doing the right things at home, but this feels different.

Changing history? That does sound...well, couldn't that be kind of dangerous? Not that I know a lot about this time travel and things, but....I'm not sure that makes me comfortable either.

Yeah. It's even changed while I was here. Before we were on the moon, this place, well, it was raining all the time. Now there's snow and people act different around us. We obviously did something.

[Not that he'll complain about the yetis and mammoths, okay....]

So they know you did something to change things and they aren't happy about it? I'm not sure how the weather changes that much. Unless they have different seasons? Maybe that would explain the rain and snow?

That's the thing. They don't know we did anything.

And also, that's the thing. It was raining for 7 months straight, at least when I got here. Suddenly, the place gets bombed and now it's snowing like nothing ever happened. If that doesn't seem suspicious, then I dunno what is.

But then why would they act any differently if they don't know? That doesn't make any sense, does it? Or has that happened before? It does seem strange. But I guess there is still a lot I don't know about this place. I don't suppose the people in charge might know and answer some questions to explain?

It means we've changed something and they're unaware of the rainy city that used to exist. This is exactly what the Initiative wants. Other than that, I don't know.

You mean they forgot about their home? Why would anyone want to make them forget about where they lived, where they grew up?

[Estelle only recently got here of course, so there is still a lot she needs to catch up on, but none of what Yuri is saying makes her any more comfortable about their situation.]

I really don't know, other than it's messed up.

[He really hates the Initiative, can you tell?]

It sounds like it. Isn't there some way we could help them, help them remember their home before this? There must be something we can do, Yuri.

[People's memories are precious. Estelle doesn't like to think of anyone messing with them like that. A person's memories are part of what makes them...them. The good and bad experiences, as she sees it. She is aware that this is a war situation, that things are serious, but even so. Estelle just wants to help, ensure people are safe and unharmed, or heal the ones that do get injured as best she can.]

Not sure what we can do. They brought it on themselves.

[He's not empathetic to their cause like Estelle is. He's put up with them for so long that he's numb. Pointless missions, being put in danger's way, all this and that for nothing more than maybe a decent living space and maybe a night's sleep every once in a while. But it's not like he can't fight against the U.E. either, who's also a legitimate threat. It's not an idea situation where he can find another path to take, like he did at home.]

Yuri....

[She knows he is a bit more...blunt. That her compassion can be a weakness as well as a strength at times like this, recalling Belius. And Estelle is aware Yuri knows more about this situation than her. But she can't help wanting to do something about all of this. She purses her lips.]

I guess it's different here from home. Not as easy to find our own path. Our own way to help, is it?

[He watches her -- her uncertainty about his words. Maybe she doesn't say it, but he can see it. Unlike him, she's morally sound. She's driven by her altruism.]

There might be our own way, but I think it's not as easy as making a guild or finding the root cause of all the disturbances. We know who the Initiative's enemy is, and they're not too thrilled with us either.

I guess not. Besides, I'm not a princess of this place. So I don't have the status and power that I did back home to help that way....

[But even so, Estelle is nothing if not an optimist at least most of the time. And in this situation, they can't very well just sit back and do nothing when it's a war and people would get hurt or killed by their inaction and indecisiveness.]

We'll figure something out. Together, just like we have back home.

[He's not going to fight her. Helping them is something he should be doing, but he's seen too much that he could care less. Kinda like back at home with the Empire. He'd like it to just be a thing where he could leave them alone but they're going get them involved continuously, that's how it works.]

What do you want to do first?

[He's just going to cut to the chase, because clearly, that's where it's going to go.]

Well.....You said we can travel here, right? I think...I think I'd like to. To explore and see more of this place. Maybe find a library if there is one. It's a whole new world to discover, Yuri!

[Of course, even in the midst of all of this, Estelle can't help but be overjoyed at the opportunities, given her sheltered background.]

Well, it kinda literally is now. We'd have to look around to find any landmarks since this isn't the city I remember from before.

[Normally, he would just not care, but fuck it, he's going to get dragged into things. It's how it works-- it's how it was back home.]

Guess we'll have to take some time then and see what's here. [And he's definitely going with her (because there's no stopping her) just to make sure doesn't get herself into any danger.]

So we can then? Go and explore together?

[Even if he doesn't know the area, she doesn't seem worried. Just makes it more fun in some ways since they would then be discovering it together at the same time. She is so excited at this idea, she is not even necessarily considering the possible danger. She trusts Yuri, and knows he can defend himself if things come down to that. Together they would be fine.]

Yeah, sure.

[Again, better he escort her and keep her safe than have her wander off, get hurt, and feel responsible for not protecting her.]
