question for those of you who are coming to earth OR have already come to earth!

because i'm curious: what are you most excited to do when you get back down OR what was the very first thing you did when you came back that you couldn't do on the moon :)

yeah i bet that would work! i know there are people here with powers, some of them can probably fly

It would be pretty funny though if all of us have powers of some sort and no one chose flying.

can people pick their powers where you're from?

Nope! You have to have a mutated gene to become a NEXT, as people with powers back home are called. You never know you're one until your power awakens, nor choose what it is.

Oh, I meant that for this world in particular! I'm sure someone could pick an item that would allow them to fly...

oh! i get what you mean! i guess i haven't gotten used to the idea of weapons that can give people powers haha

Same. I just chose a power that I had exposure to back home, and it's worked out well for me. What about you?

oh what power?

haha mine doesn't give me a power it's just like... it's kind of hard to explain but it's like this bottle that fills up with whatever you need it to? like medicine if someone is sick or injured or water if you're dehydrated

Oh! That's pretty cool. You'll never run out of tea or chocolate then in this weather. And it's ice manipulation, my power. I use it most of the time for ice skating since that's what I used to do back home. I form a path of ice and skate on it as I go.

oh wow! that's so cool! can i see it?

Sure! Should we meet up at the new facility?

yes! i can be there in like fifteen minutes

All right, I'll see you in a bit!

[ And with boots on and jacket buttoned up, Kaede makes her way from the Dansion to the Initiative "HQ." She has her holographic device ready to go so she can hide from the villagers two girls traveling around on ice like it's no big deal. ]

[True to her word, in around fifteen minutes she's outside the main compound, looking around for Kaede. She's wearing a warm coat and boots herself, as well as gloves and a hat.]

[ She stops the holographic device, revealing herself as she lands on the ground, a trail of ice behind her a few feet in the air.

She grins and waves before offering her hand to the girl. ] Ahiru, it's nice to meet you in person!

[quackery]

[She startles a bit at the sight of the girl coming out of nowhere, but once she's settled, she grins as well, looking with wonder to the ice stretching out behind her.]

It's nice to meet you as well! Did you do that? It's so cool!

I did! It took a lot of training to get the ice manipulation to work how I wanted it to, and to then get used to utilizing it above the ground. It's a lot of fun, though!

I'd like to see it, if that's okay! Can I?

Definitely!

[ It takes Kaede a moment to just concentrate and pretend as if Ahiru isn't there, but then she creates several steps off of the ground that go into the air above the snow banks. Kaede goes to the top step...

...and takes an additional step onto a longer slab of ice that forms under her foot. She grins as she looks down at Ahiru. ]

Come on up!

[quackery]

[She stares at with fascination and excitement, but when Kaede asks her to come up, she shakes her head.]

I don't think that's such a good idea! I mean, it's ice, so it's slippery, right? I'm pretty clumsy!

Well...

[ Kaede goes down the steps to offer her hand out to Ahiru. ]

I'll help you up! It's hard to explain, but the ice isn't slippery.

[quackery]

[Tentatively, she takes her hand, but doesn't grip hard enough that she'd pull the other girl down if she tripped - which she's certain she will. Once she steps on, though, she finds it more easy to ascend then she'd expected.]

I guess you're right! How do you get it to stay like this?

[ And before Ahiru knows it, they're on the top slab of ice. Kaede smiles as she looks at her before looking down at the floating ice steps. ]

Well, our powers are supposed to be sentient and connect with us, right? So I just had to practice getting my powers to do what I need it to do, including making it not be such a slippery surface. So! Ready to go?

[quackery]

Well, it's really amazing! So congratulations. And yeah, I'm totally ready to go.

[A pause.]

Wait, where are we going?
