Hi.

First things first this isnt going to be a lecture. Tensions are high enough and Ive barely been here long enough to have the whole history down yet. (Working on it) Besides, you've already herd plenty of it. So this isnt about that.

[ Not overtly, anyway. He's trying to do the "subtlety" thing. He's not taking notes or anything. ]

I'm Doug by the way. Mostly I'm trying to figure everything out still, you know. That sort of thing. I'm a curious and openminded sort of person wich is why I have some questions:

1. Whats your favorite thing about being here?
2. And least favorite thing?
3. If you had to make up 1 rule what would it be?
4. Why's the coffee so bad & Are there vending machines (where)?

Ah- there was a barrier keeping us separated, but there were.

[That had felt like a horror movie.]

I preferred to keep to the beach. Sand doesn't move.

[ So far she's the only person who's mentioned the dinosaurs that reacts to it as he thinks he would. It's a little unnerving... ]

It's definitely dangerous! Dinosaurs, and zombies, and vampires... Ohhh...

Vampires now too? What about vampires?

[Hushed:] There are vampires living amongst us. Transports. I'd never have thought...

Theyre not dangerous are they? Have they eaten anybody?

Well, they've been quite civil, from what I've seen... [ she's been employing the tried-and-true tactic of don't look at them and maybe they'll go away, to be perfectly honest ] Asking for willing Transports to donate blood at the clinic.

I don't know... I've never read a story about them which went quite like this.

[ She's a person after his own heart in that respect. Denial can be so soothing. ]

Blood for transfusions or are they drinking it? If its the first thing thats actually useful but it seems like leaving a kid in charge to guard a cookie jar.

I would imagine they're drinking it. Wouldn't they? [ she sounds earnestly concerned of this matter ] That's what vampires are known for.

It is. I just hope they wouldnt. [ Then again... ] But everyone does need to eat. Better that then from the source.

of course it's better, but they're still vampires
although they aren't exactly like anything i've heard about

Arent they? Whats the difference? [ Well-- ] Its in everyone's best interests to get along up here. Maybe thats the idea.

the fangs, i'd suppose, though i wouldn't wish to get close enough to see

They can retract them too I think. But maybe its all a moot point if they're not hurting anyone.

Well Im not an expert that's just what Ive heard!

i've never heard that!

It might only be true for some vampires. The stories are all kinda diffrent.
