[And now for something completely different.
For a small amount of people, such as Elaine, the mutiny itself didn't have much in the way of meaning, honestly. The hugest inconvenience was the darkness and inoperability of the doors, now that the network was back up. To her, this didn't seem like much more than a way to waste time -- even having a vague understanding of exactly why this is happening, she doesn't quite get it. Things will be fixed faster if everyone works together, she thinks. Get over yourselves, she thinks.
Which is why she technically sides with the Initiative, but there's not much she can do if she can barely see at the moment. So anyone pro-initiative might have gotten medical supplies or crappy space food, whatever, delivered. Even if you're a mutineer this might have happened. Lack of support for the cause doesn't necessarily mean she'll bother making a distinction, after all. It's not like she'll get permanently hurt.
Is what she thought, anyway. Wherever she is at the moment, her voice is flat as usual for anyone who knows her, but her breathing is slightly rough.]
-- Ah, there it goes...
I apologise for interrupting, as we certainly do appear to be in the midst of a rather serious situation, but this is somewhat urgent. If there is anyone in possession of both ice and any amount of leeches, then I would be quite appreciative!
I am uncertain what I may be able to give you in exchange, but I would be willing to work towards any compromise that you would prefer.

[In the meanwhile, he'll start unraveling some gauze and tape and handing it to her to help patch that thing up.]

[Is what she starts to say before he mentions the cafeteria. Food?]
Yes, that's correct, an intake of food would prove helpful...!
no subject
I'm out of the question for being a donor, so you'd have to ask someone else if you think you need that. I can, however, go with you to the cafeteria! Can you walk?
no subject
[Finger in hand, she stands up! She's a little wobbly on her feet from sitting down for so long and losing the blood she did, but after that bit she walks fine.]
It seems that I can!
no subject
Excellent! Let's go. [If she looks wobbly, he'll help her out, even if it's just grabbing her sleeve to keep her from toppling over.]
Thanks to my immortality, my blood won't really stay outside of me for long. It comes right back to me. So I think transferring it into another person could have some pretty gruesome results.

... Do you believe that we could try that one day, Mr Elmer? Assuming that the situation of my contract will be one day resolved? I'd like to see what would happen.
no subject
[He considers this for a moment. Did she make a contract with a demon?] All in the name of science, eh? I suppose I could. Though I don't know anything about this contract you have.
no subject
[She hopes not.]
At any rate, within these past months -- ah, that is, prior to my arrival in this place -- he came into a rather large sum of power, and chose to allow me to benefit from this through a contract. His lifespan and my own are equal, and while my resistance to illness and injury remain unchanged, I no longer retain either. In the event that I were to die, I would simply be revived.
But I have never had blood forcibly removed from my body...

[Once they get to the cafeteria, he'll start digging through whatever rations they have to find something for her to eat. At least juice is something they have. He'll toss her a bottle, which was probably a bad idea to do to someone who's just lost a finger. Whoops.] Oh, head's up!
no subject
[Not it isn't. The second part is definitely true though.
Anyway.
Like she said, nothing about her body actually improved. Damage just doesn't stick when she's under the contract. And she was on the frail side before, horrible vision included -- so it goes without saying her depth perception suffers a little too. That combined with her sudden lack of finger makes catching things a little difficult.
What I'm saying is, she misses it completely and it bounces off her head.]
... Ouch...
no subject
Whoops, sorry! [Oops. He has to stifle a laugh, though. He'll walk over and pick it up, handing her the juice and some cookies and a protein bar too.] And far be it from me to stop you. I'd say do whatever make you happy, but in your case, I'll say, do whatever you think will get you to find your smile the fastest.
no subject
How can you be so certain that you'll be able to find your own smile, Mr Elmer?

[She pauses, like she didn't even realize she'd eaten everything. Oops.]
I have had this appetite for some time... although my body is immortal, I have been sickly since birth.

But you're already aware that what I've said is the truth, aren't you, Mr Elmer?

This is what I said! You already know that my words are the truth, don't you, Mr Elmer? Your actions in attempting to find your own smile, while commendable, are ultimately futile. If it were possible, it would have been accomplished some time ago.
Although you refuse to accept that fact, you're certainly aware of it.
