Hello!

[when this video post starts, the focus is somewhere... around the top of her head. Colette's eyes widen as she notices that she's holding it too high, so the view suddenly jumps down (yep, she just over corrected). Nibbling on her lip a little, she tilts it higher again... perfect! Determined not to let the view vary she tries her best not to move it]

My name is Colette Brunel. I haven't talked to everyone like this yet, so... hello! It's really nice to meet you all.

I'm sorry to bother everyone like this, but I wanted to ask something. Even though we... don't live on Earth anymore [her gaze grows a mite somber as she talks about it] it still sounds like a very important world. A lot of people here come from Earth, and we're supposed to travel throughout Earth's history! I come from another world that is very different, so I would really like to learn more about Earth if I can.

And so... if anyone knows anything about Earth and has a little time to spare, I'd love to ask some questions! O-Or, if you would rather just tell me a few facts and not be asked any questions, that's okay too. Anything would be helpful.

[although, a thought strikes her] Ah! That doesn't mean that I don't want to talk to people if they're not from Earth. I'd like to hear about everyone's homes! They all sound really beautiful in their own way, and it would be nice to hear about many worlds.

[she pauses, and smiles sheepishly! She's not one to get shy, but she feels a little bad making requests like this when everyone is probably busy]

Ah, Earth! What is she to us but the face of Nature we know best day by day? [The shark-mouthed creature that proclaims so melodramatically claps a hand to his chest, lids shutting over eyes with red sclera to mourn the suffering of whatever he has decided to be dramatic about today.] Both in the sublime and annihilating form of her hurricanes and mountains, and in the delicate and beautiful form of a flower breaking through the stones or the sweet produce of honey bees, Nature is truly the defining feature of dear old planet Earth.

Well, I suppose boring rocks like this moon are Nature too, but that just isn't interesting to me.

By the way, my name is Christopher. [He smiles at her.] Does your world also have flowers?

Fewer, now. I don't know whether to praise Nature's perseverance or mourn the cruelty of humankind. Is it curiosity that has you interested in Earth?

[Focus isn't really a thing he's interested in.]

Curiosity is a marvellous gift from our ancestors the monkeys to our future generations' innovations. [He doesn't even try to make sense.] I wonder, is this the kind of emotion that we call pure?

Pure curiosity. [He points.] You.

It's an admirable animal instinct—so of course I don't have any. What is your world like, Colette?

[He does not acknowledge the contradiction in what he just said.]

[Christopher rests his head in a hand and smiles, welcoming of it.] Mm? How so? Is it full of very nice flowers and mountain ranges?
