so if you somehow had the choice to stay here or go home right now what would you do? pretend you don't have, like, a few days to think it over or anything. you just have to pick. 60 seconds or less! i just want to see what people would do

[No ulterior motives here; she really is simply curious to hear what people have to say about the topic. Listening to different opinions on a large subject like this is a good way to spend a night - or morning, as it were.]

I'll concede that they could be put to use if their apathy was manipulated by a more ardent activist, but somehow I doubt that this was the scenario you intended to imply.

I suspected that might be the case. My apologies; sometimes my thoughts and words get away from me.

Optimistic? I've never thought of it that way before.

Have you met someone named Nezumi?

[His name means rat or mouse, so it's similar to Ahiru meaning duck.... it works, okay? They aren't normal names!]

I'm certain that my penchant for rambling into the abstract and hypothetical didn't help much either. Let's see if my second attempt will suffer the same fate.

People who don't care enough to do anything are only useful when manipulated by someone else with an agenda. Somehow I doubted this was the point you were trying to make.

very focused.

[ it is her modus operandi, although she's quite sure "better for herself", while desperately loving, is more selfish than anyone ought to be allowed ]

ive found its hard to describe eorzea
it is a wondrous place full of peril and conflict
but through it all there is strength and loyalty
everyone tries so hard to protect and rebuild
it is a place brimming with hope despite being knocked down so many times

Too noisy. Too many people around. I prefer the quiet.

If the Initiative said you could go back to your friends, would you? Or if they said they can bring them here, would you choose that?

Some people will not want to know their world can be destroyed at any moment either.

Whether it's harsh or not depends entirely on the meaning an individual attaches to it; I'm simply using the most accurate terms to describe what I'm saying.

As it is, I wouldn't use many of the situations here to plead your case. There are far too many counterarguments to be made against them.

And the civilians who died because they were denied passage up here? The ones which the 'good majority' attempted to save?

I didn't mean to make it seem like I was focusing on the lack of fairness; in all honesty, I agree with you. There's no use in moping about it, and we're not going to get anything done without action.
