[ Now that a few days have already passed, there's not much point in moping quietly and ignoring the network for much longer. Hopefully things have settled down a bit by now... ]
It looks like people are already organizing a few missions of their own, which is all fine and good, but we need to look beyond supplies for the short term. Our new headquarters isn't fit for holding this many people, for who knows how long, so aside from supplies, I think we need to put an effort towards fixing that as soon as we can.
First and foremost, we need more power.
Especially if we want to get that Aristeas contraption back up and running. Obviously we don't have the tools and resources to fix that here and now, but I'm sure I can work out a few points in time where we can slip in and change how this place gets built. What I really need is anyone who can help out with the technical side of this, or even to lend a hand with the research, and a few volunteers to run around playing time tag. We're going to need to get our hands on and change blueprints and data and who knows what else.
[ Basically, a call for help. He might be in over his head on this one, with how much tech is going to be involved. That all rambled out, there's a small, awkward pause before he adds: ]
And hello to all the new Transports, I guess. When I first got stuck here, Exsilium had just gotten itself trashed by an army of monsters, but this arrival sure tops that one as the new worst entrance of all.

i can add it to the suddenly growing list of "what Caesar needs to look up".
though, missile defense? they researched defending against missiles?
text / private
Some countries back home have been known to launch on each other, so it's not uncommon for defense departments of a country's government to do research on how to defend themselves.
Nuclear warfare isn't as common, but there's been numerous tests throughout the years.

what an impersonal way to handle a fight.
i know it's a little off-topic, but how did these missile defenses work usually? other missiles? things like those flying contraptions the UE has?
text / private
They deploy weapons or technology to track and/or destroy missiles. As for how the missiles are dealt with, it depends on when or where it's intercepted, but they're able to target long, medium, and short-range missiles. There are advantages and disadvantages to each defense. Some missiles might only have a window of thirty seconds to intercept before it reaches its target or there's no way to prevent ensuing damage where it is intercepted, especially if it's nuclear.
A nuclear warhead like the UE used is going to be difficult. It might be safer to deplete their resources so they aren't able to launch or build more in the future.
I've been able to bring down a plane loaded with cyanogen chloride in the past, but that's a walk in the park compared to nuclear weapons.

do i even want to know what cyanogen chloride is?

[ There has to be a place they've seized control of that provides the resources for it. ]
It's a blood agent. A highly toxic one.

but yes. attacking the source will likely be the way to go. that's still a bit off course for the goal i'm working on here and now, but i could ask about it. anything in particular we would need to know to figure out the exact location?
text / private
I'm not too sure. Better to check with the Initiative if they've kept an eye on where the UE gets their resources from. Books in the library and any other publications we might have on hand.
text / private
i'll hit them up about that when i get the chance. it sounds like something they would have wanted to keep track of even before any of this came up.
text / private
Let's hope they have. Have any of them on board gone through a list of what we need?
[ The Initiative who built this thing should know better than them unless they once again expect Transports to solve it. ]
text / private
and not a clue. i haven't heard from them much aside from the AI. there's a few Transports working on their own 'need' list, but i don't think that extends to 'fix this' yet.

[ Did everyone forget what happened to Elmer's world? ]
text / private
[ He sure hasn't. If it weren't for the sudden lack of being on Earth, he had other plans in the works... ]

Nothing wrong with payback.
But we're still vastly outnumbered in every possible way.

in any case, we need to think about ourselves first right now, then about the UE and Exsilium.
