So, it seems that we'll be leaving this place. Some of you seem...upset.

Not I! I am quite pleased to be rid of this place. But if it bothers you that much, I, the great GENIUS Dist the Rose, propose this:

Given the right materials, I could begin making replicas. In fact, I could even replicate the entire island. If we bring one Exile with us, I could make many more from them. You see? It matters not if I make a hundred or a hundred thousand! We could simply repopulate the island!

[He folds his hands in his lap, pleased.]

It's a simple solution, directly from the mind of a genius. You may thank me now.

Are you crazy?

[All in all she's had an okay life but there are plenty of parts of it she wouldn't wish on anybody. Besides, it wouldn't be the same, she knows that.]

Xion, don't bother. From what he's said to everyone else, it sounds like he actually is crazy.

[Somehow the confirmation of that idea isn't as much of a comfort as it should be.]

But... even if he is... how can he actually think this will fix anything?

[Not to mention the replicas he'd be creating.]

I don't know. Sometimes, people just have the wrong idea on how to help.

Then how can you say this? Making replicas of the people in the city isn't going to change what's going to happen to it! And they'll have to live with that! Knowing that they're just replacements, and knowing they can never really do that because... because they're different!

[Funny she refuses to apply that concept to herself, but that's neither here nor there]

You have a rather limited view of replicas! Mine aren't mere replacements!

[No comment about not making the city the same- for Dist, a crowd of people was the same- they were all inconsequential, original or replica.]

Then what are they supposed to be?! That's what you're treating them like! If you actually cared about them, you'd think about how they'd feel!

[He doesn't actually care though, and she knows it. Just like the Organization hadn't, so long as they had another disposable pawn]

I don't care for the feelings of replicas. I only suggested it because there seemed to be a lot of discussion about lives lost. I've offered a simple, elegant solution to remaking the island and filling it with background noise, as it were.

[He smiles to himself.]

If you don't care then you shouldn't be making them at all! You say they're not replacements but that's exactly what you're doing! How can you just put that burden on them, knowing what they'd be made for? It'd be hard enough on them already! There's nothing simple or elegant about it!

You're just... treating them like things!

[There's a nagging feeling, a reminder in the back of her mind, of someone else who had treated her like a thing far too many times. Was that really their fate?

She shakes her head, trying to ignore the pricking sensation in the corner of her eyes]
