I don't think anyone's being casual about it.

[God knows she isn't. She'd cried for an hour, when she first realized what was going to happen, and she wishes none of them had to carry this weight, this decision, but it's necessary, so she's dealing with it.]

And then what? Send them out to be mowed down by the border patrol?
