I had the same idea myself, when I first got here. I didn't trust the modifications any more than you do, probably less so. The last thing I needed was to have my hazard suit suddenly shut down, or worse, rip itself apart with me IN it.

But, I can honestly say that there haven't been any ill effects at all. In fact, it now has a beefed-up strength augmentation that just wasn't there before.
