[ in a pink raincoat, the girl is prompt and searching for something blue. she had squinted at the word halo wondering if he meant what she thought he did and finally just shrugged. surely blue would stand out.

sitting on the steps, she chews her lip as she waits, keeping an eye out on everyone. even if they're not who she looks for, she still likes to observe and see what she can learn. one never knows when it may come in handy. ]

[When Matt arrives he's coming from the city, not the Hold, and sure enough there's a little blue halo floating about six inches above his head. He's also wearing combat armor (minus the helmet, of course) and carrying both a tactical military backpack on his back and a duffel bag in hand. There's also a sniper rifle slung over one shoulder.]

[He doesn't have the slightest idea who he's looking for, however, only that their name is Cat. People come and go from the Hold, and there's a girl in a pink raincoat, but... she can't be the one asking for armor, can she?]

You Mat-thias? [ she stumbles a little over the pronunciation. ]

[...okay maybe she can be. Despite the multitude of things that are odd about his appearance (there's also a thin red scar running horizontally across his entire forehead did I mention that?), he isn't looking particularly menacing at the moment. Mostly just dubious.]

[He's seriously about to ask what in the world a little girl needs armor for, because even grown men have mother hen streaks once in a while, when he realizes what a stupid question it is. They've been brought here to fight a war, haven't they? Better to ask why the Initiative saw fit to bring a girl to the fight than to ask why she feels the need to protect herself.]

[He sets the duffel bag down, crouches down beside it, and proceeds to root through the contents of the bag. There's a LOT of crap in this bag. Bottles, syringes, rolls of duct tape... finally he pulls out a length of string he managed to scrounge up before coming to find Cat. It'll have to do for a measuring tape for now.]

Mind if I get a couple of quick measurements?
