[ Video] Lost and Will Be Found

[Normally Erza is always composed and generally friendly when making a post to the network but today she looks extremely pissed off.]

I have an urgent matter that requires the assistance of someone with skills in investigation and tracking.

[Straight to the point.]

Some of you may have heard that Lucy was attacked a few weeks ago, during our most recent mission. While she's now physically fine, something very precious to both Lucy and another friend of mine was taken from her during the assault; a key.

[She holds up a drawing of the missing item.]

I have reasons to believe that it was a fellow transport who attacked Lucy, so if anyone has information about the whereabouts of the key or the one who took it, please get in touch with myself or Jellal Fernandez over a private channel.

[Her glare becomes more fierce now.]

If you're listening to this, I suggest you return what you stole before I find you.

[The feed cuts.]

[OOC: Both Erza and Jellal will be responding, so don't be alarmed if a blue haired pretty boy starts talking to you.]

[Natsu isn't happy about being left out. And it kind of shows in the scowl he's sporting. Luckily he's smart enough not to directly lash out at Erza's hole in her statement.]

I've got the bastard's scent but I haven't picked it up yet. This place is too freakin big.

[If she thinks he's going sit this one out, Erza is SORELY mistaken. He has failed once. He has a lot of payback to dish out.]

[That's not her intention; Natsu is better at the doing part than making inquiries, which is why Erza and Jellal would be doing that. Sometimes a scalpel is better than a hammer, can't fire a nuke without a target, etc.]

I'm counting on you to find it once we've narrowed down the search area.

Have you caught the scent since we've been back?

[Well that's good to know. Besides ever since his failure he's been training around the clock. The only reason he's started taking breaks and actually seeing the others is because Lucy found him that day when he pretty much passed out on her out of sheer exhaustion.]

Oh you bet I'll kick that bastard's ass and take back Lucy's key for sure.

[At the question, he can't help but give an annoyed growl.]

Faintly on the wind at times. But it's far away. Tried following the wind once but that didn't help. The bastard was gone already. But at least this proves his freak ass is still in this place.

I'm sorry I didn't kill them and get the key back last time...

[Good thing she didn't mention that to Erza yet. She doesn't need to be worried about you too Natsu!]

Exactly. However we can't rule out that it might be something like Lucy's spirits; summoned by someone else. If so it would explain why it's been so hard to find.

The fact that it also took Loke's key is disturbing as well.

[This is like a pseudo-kidnapping. Wait a minute...]

Natsu, what about the key? Can you smell that?

You fought with it, Pidonus?

[A moment of humming, and then Haruto looks down at the feed.]

My familiars and I are at your service. [They crowd the screen, each roughly the size of a hand, fingers spread wide: a bird, a flying octopus, and a unicorn.]

They have limited mana, but it'll last them two days each, if they're just searching instead of anything more complicated. I see what they see, so I can keep you up to date if they find anything.

[His mouth twitches, and then he reaches up to change the security. He sounds more serious when he continues.]

Who do you suspect? Do you know anything about their powers?

[Lucy knew the potential repercussions. And besides he got better. If anything he felt he was getting close to unlocking something else about his gauntlets.]

Hmmm That would make sense. It'd make things even more annoying though.

[He gave a simple nod to her question.]

Yeah I thought of that too. Didn't get any luckier though.

[She huffs.]

Nothing is ever simple.

We'll just have to hope that one of the other transports has some useful information. In any event we should be careful with how much information we share; it could be someone we know.

[Erza doesn't want to think that it could be one of their friends, but until they could rule them out as the culprit everyone outside the guild was a suspect.]

Tell me about it.

[He spits out angrily. If only his sense of smell could be boosted even more.]

I know. That's why I made this private.

[Natsu could think strategically at times. And given the nature of the situation, this was one such time.]

[Erza leans in closer to look at the familiars; useful and they were cute too!]

That will be invaluable, they're small enough to go unnoticed by the culprit. As for suspects...

[She knows who Haruto is, Lucy talks about him; he's a good friend. Erza crosses her arms.]

Pardon me for saying so, but everyone. Lucy says her attacker was extremely agile and cunning as it attempted to keep her from fighting back by targeting her arms. It used daggers made from bone to do that. She says it tried it to keep out of the sun, so I suspect it has a vulnerability to light.

Does any of that sound familiar?

[He looks just as annoyed.]

I know nothing of your key, but the attacker is long since dead. She was a sick child. Be mindful of your words and your threats.

[Erza appears a little taken aback by that information, she doesn't like it when children get mixed up in things like this but she isn't just going to drop this; the key is still important. She sighs.]

My condolences, no child should ever have to endure the torment which was described to me.

[If this was even the same attacker.]

Did she wear a medallion with an inscription on it?

[Something still didn't add up; the scent of key was still moving which meant someone still had it.]

Was the girl a transport, like us?

Me and Natsu both chased whoever it was... But they got away. I'd followed him, bent on getting revenge for Lucy, after all...

She was. And her name was Regina Darkov.

[He was close to this. ~~It's not like he had to kill her! oh wait~~. Erza's expression softens, she was still worried about Loke and what would happen to him if someone tampered with the key but she could spare a moment for someone who had lost someone because of this.]

I'm sorry for your loss.

[The words are sincere but it doesn't seem like enough, but how could words ever be. She tried not think of what she would do if it had been Natsu or Lucy or any of the others.]

Do you know what happened to Miss Darkov to make her do the things she did?

[Erza smiles to herself; she was glad they had friends willing to go to such lengths for them.]

I'm afraid it wouldn't matter if we found them now, I've been informed that she is already dead.

[She is silent for a moment.]

She didn't have Loke's key on her. Natsu says the scent keeps moving so someone else must have it.

Natsu wait for a moment.

[She disappears for a short while. When Erza returns her initial anger has faded somewhat.]

I've just been informed that the attacker, Regina Darkov, has already died. She didn't have Loke's key with her.

Natsu, are you certain that the key's scent keeps moving?

[If that's the case they have another culprit on their hands.]

[Natsu blinks curiously as Erza goes away for the moment. well no like he can just hang up on her. When she does return her news is not what he expects.]

She's dead?!

[Dead...hmmm Was that the weird scent he picked up from it?]

[He's broken out of his musings when Erza asks him again.]

Yeah, I'm sure of it. I've been around Lucy long enough to know the scent of each of her keys.

[That and Loke's scent since his guild days.]

When did she die?

[Because the way that thing moved unsettled him that night and if she was just a corpse somehow moved by someone else, well that made everything click. ]

I'm afraid I've little in the way of investigating prowess, though be that as it may... I would be willing to provide you with any other help I can, Erza.

You need only to ask.

I'm sorry your friend was attacked, but it's good that she's been doing better. I'll let you know if I ever see a key like that.

... Do you really think another transport was responsible what happened?

... Which leads me to think it's something different than simply a person or group. Not enough people would view Lucy as a target specifically, or know what that Key's capable of doing.

Thank you Alice, we'll need as much help as we can get to find the key; Exsilium is just too big for us to search by ourselves.

[A pause while she moves over to her apartment window. She switches to a private channel.]

I've been told that Lucy's attacker died recently. She was just a girl being controlled by a parasite.
