[ allison's decided to record this from the rooftop of one of the slightly shorter and less damaged buildings because why not; especially when the air is crisp and cold and helpful in clearing a troubled head. she's brushing back a stray piece of hair when she turns on the video, before using both hands to steady the tablet currently balanced on her knees. though she looks calm, there definitely seems to be a heaviness in her posture — like she's only just taken a moment to relax and let the good and bad of the situation sink in. the latter, it seems, is what's troubling her today. ]

Hi. [ a half-smile ]

I haven't been here too long, so I'm not so good at this. But how do you even begin to stop thinking and worrying about everything back home? Or at least about people. Family.

[ because the realization had been that her dad's alone now. or he's with gerard, which might actually be worse. she knows he's capable of taking care of himself, but she also hadn't exactly left at the best of times either. her tone turns more inquisitive, more determined as her brain tries to grasp at ideas of what she could do. ]

I know trying to be sent back is trouble, but if there's ways to let us travel, shouldn't there be some way for us to leave something? A note, a memento, or something to let people know we're okay.

[ if she could, she's sure he'd find it. she knows it'd probably make things too easy, but a girl can dream, can't she? the silence begins to stretch on too long and allison figures it's time to buck up and at least stop broadcasting her sullenness, so she just adds: ]

Thanks. [ and a shake of her head before the feed's switched off. ]

[ jack might've hit the nail on the head about the bit she dislikes the most about all this. the lack of control over everything... the lack of knowledge... it's frustrating to no end. ]

Trying not to think about it only makes me think about how much I'm trying not to think about it.

Suddenly being accosted by someone in purple kevlar with a crossbow strapped to their leg and with a beautiful swirly cape might not be exactly the best circumstances to find yourself in, after all, if you want to avoid a heart attack. She makes sound as she lands on the roof - deliberate, for Allison's sake - to make her presence known. )

( When she's the Huntress, all traces of Sicily disappear; it's rough, harsh, but since Allison isn't currently committing crime, it's not really unfriendly. More curious, than anything. )

Not as new as some but I have not been here as long as others, either.

For me it's one part reminding myself that my friends and family can take care of themselves, and one part trying to believe the proof that time seems to stop, back home.

They won't notice you're gone. That's the thing about time travel. You can always go right back to the second you got took from.

That - that would actually be slightly comforting. As far as this place allows any sort of comfort.

Far as I know, nobody back home's supposed to notice we're gone. [Both Bolin and Asami were from different times than her, and heck, Sokka and Toph wouldn't be here if that weren't true, either.] Don't you think leaving them a note's just going to make it worse?

[Mako would probably try to jump in and find the three of them, and Tenzin, too. It'd be better for everyone if she gave them some space. Not like having her around did much when it actually mattered anyway.]

[ riku gives her an apologetic look; he gets it. he really does. he has a hundred or more so worlds that he's supposed to be protecting back home, and here, he can't do it. it's maddening. ]

Time stops when you're here, and when you go back... everything'll move on. You probably won't even remember this place.

I've talked to people who went home and returned. Nobody ever noticed they were gone.

We get put back right where they took us from.

I worry about my family, yes. I'm sure the Initiative will let us use the machines to miss as little time as possible when this is over.

[Sue's sure because she will personally start throwing obstructive people through walls.

She sighs.]

But the way time travel works where I'm from, that doesn't guarantee anything.

[Alternate timelines are a major headache for Marvel characters. Fantastic Four ones especially.]

You do not stop worrying signora. Family is too important to not worry about.

[With four children at home and his lovely wife he was feeling that concern very distinctly himself. Especially because there were very evil mind people at home that might mean to do them harm.]

We just have to do what we can here and trust they will be fine when we return.

I have not heard very much about this, may I ask, what does happen to those who try to return?

[ Allison surprises herself in her own nonchalance at the sight of another caped and masked vigilante, but she's got Steph to thank for breaking her into that. The sound makes her sit up, more alert and wary of the stranger next to her. When it becomes clear that the conversation isn't going to take a turn for unfriendliness, she closes the tablet and smiles politely at the other girl. ]

If you can call it that. [ barely. ] I thought it'd be better space to clear my head than an apartment with two strangers.

Oh, hey.

[ allison waves back, even though her heart's not really into making it enthusiastic. she doesn't look drastically different without the mask, but it's a nice change to feel like she's just talking to another teenager. ]

I know they're capable, but there were a few close calls while I was still there. I don't want to think about what it's like right now—

[ woah pause rewind repeat please ]

Trying to make myself busy every single waking hour would be something.

[ exploring though. part of her feels perfectly content to sit here, but the more logical side of her knows that she would be better off doing something. ]
