[ Among the imported fighters this month there is a boy who is familiar to some and unfamiliar to many, with a straw hat dangling precariously from a string around his neck. Like a few before him, he appears to be upside down, though judging by the Super Saiyan 'do he's rocking, it isn't because he's technology inept, but rather because he's totally hanging upside down.

Those around the Initiative building will see him looking like he's about to go hurtling head-first towards the ground from the rooftop, and those who aren't are treated to a video post that is being filmed way, way too close to this guy's face. ]

Hey, about this fighting thing--sorry, I don't wanna fight for you guys! I'm a pirate, not a hero. Heroes are the guys who share all their meat, and I don't wanna be that guy! I wanna keep all the meat for myself!

I mean, I don't really get it, and the in-eat-iative lady said a lotta stuff I didn't understand? I'm strong, so I'll help out if I want to help out, but don't expect to be getting any of my meat from me.

[ He nods sage-like, like he's just expelled some great knowledge upon the awaiting masses.

Then he grins, holds a piece of paper so it's rightside up to the network, depicting... uh, people? Yeah, those are probably people. ]



I'm looking for these guys! It doesn't really matter if I find them because they're all strong enough to take care of themselves, but I'm getting hungry and I need some food before I starve to death! It's been almost an hour and I can feel my energy levels dropping already.

You don't know who the Pirate King is? It's the name they give to the strongest, richest and most powerful pirate alive! The Pirate King is the man with the most freedom out of anyone, and it's going to be me! Monkey D. Luffy.

Aah, I see! So to be a pirate King you basically have to gather as much treasure as you can? Sounds like you probably have a lot of competition.

Yeah! Me and my crew are going after the One Piece--the greatest treasure there ever was. After I get that, I'll be the Pirate King.

Really!? So what is the One Piece? Is it a giant statue made of gold and jewels? No, it'd be hard to move it around if it was something like that. Maybe it's a rope of jewelry? Oh oh! Maybe it's a whole island, hidden in the mists with exotic treasures and animals living on it -

[ Whoops, Lucy's imagination is going into overdrive trying to figure out what it is. ]

That's the best part! Nobody knows what it is. It doesn't even matter! Who wants to go on an adventure when you already know what the ending is gonna be? I don't want to go on an adventure like that.

You know, I bet you'd get along with my navigator. Her name is Nami. She really likes treasure, too.

Really? So it's a mystery - that's really cool. And.. I have to agree with you. I wouldn't want to read a book if I already knew the ending, and I definitely wouldn't want to go on an adventure if I knew how it turned out.

[ ... unless she could change it for the better. ]

Nami, huh? That was the pigtailed one, right? Next to the guy with the scar over an eye? [ She grins absently. ] We won't know until she gets here, anyway.

But likewise, I bet you'd get along with Natsu, my teammate. He'd probably feel the same way as you about adventuring without knowing what will happen. He loves challenges that way.

Exactly. The best kind of adventure is the kind where you get to go kick ass in places you've never been before and nobody can tell you what to do. Natsu sounds like he gets it! Are you pirates too?
