Perfect. Now, imagine the sky. It's a bit like an ocean, too, right? But there are streams and currents that flow through it, ones you can't see.

[He recalls the last time he told the legend to Rosette, and makes a gesture--one that probably falls out of view of the camera at some point--probably meant to encompass the length of the sky.]

The sky has a river like that too, invisible to your eyes. Droplets from that stream fall to Earth and join together, and when they do, they create souls. When each person dies, those fragments of soul return to the sky and re-join the stream.

In my world, it's said that that's how all life on Earth renews itself.
