Video;
[Unlike the norm, Shiki appears on screen wearing his glasses. Holding his comm with one hand and fixing his glasses with the other by shifting his index finger against the bridge, Shiki opens his mouth to speak and is cut off by rushing air. Moving aside, he narrowly steps aside as a segment of the darkened street he's standing nearby is obliterated by a scythe made of wind. The clean slash in the ground is exposed only after the dust clears, a bit easier to notice despite the drizzle of the unending storm above.]
Jeez, what bad timing. [This is Shiki's only comment as he drops his communicator, the wind picking up as windows begin to shatter and parts of the brick walls around them come undone in the air. Out comes Shiki's knife and in one curt gesture, he slashes the air and the wind dies down instantly.
Unabated, Kagura, riding her summoned feather hangs in the air in plain sight of the camera, swiping her fan nonchalantly without a single word. Bladed winds come down from the sky and they disappear with swipes of Shiki's knife, before he turns over the blade and it shifts, turning into a full length katana.
The two exchange a little silence as if trying to reach each other and the feed cuts off in the next instant as Kagura's next attack destroys Shiki's comm.]
(OOC: Shiki's communicator was destroyed in this post and he'll be getting a new one sometime in the evening. His replies will be dated later in the day! Otherwise, feel free to action in! The fighting will be done with both parties in quite a bit of pain.)

Action
Her attacks don't stop coming in as she summons a swarm of tornadoes to block Shiki from running. She had no desire to drag this out any longer. It would be swift is she had anything to say about it. She'd even take his head to the Initiative herself. She begins to move the tornadoes closer to where he is, entrapping him in her wind, hopefully, with the bricks and shards of glass the tornadoes are picking up as they get closer.]
Action
The little 'cracks' in the tornados became plainly visible. With three swipes of his sword, Shiki took a few steps and one by one, the tornados simply 'ceased'. The winds didn't die down. They just stopped being there. Dust fell and the remains of bricks scattered as they simply landed on the ground.
Lifting his head to look at Kagura instead, Shiki began walking in her direction, waiting for the next attack so he could plan a real counter-attack.]
Re: Action
Action
He rushed forward, jumping and killing one wind blade before he pushed against the wall nearest. One foot touched it and despite his seemingly small stature, he ran up it, killing one twister as he rose past the swarming air blades below. Shiki advanced, pushing past another tornado and killed it with another swing of his sword, all while he kept his eyes on Kagura, anticipating more attacks.
There was still more distance to clear and blasts of wind in his way, but he still had his target.]

Turning his sword into a spear, Shiki jabbed his weapon through the next twister, dissipating it like the others.]
What I meant when I told you that you weren't a real monster was... Alongside vampires, I can be called a true monster.
[By his side, he picked up a shard of glass and threw it with practiced ease--cutting through Kagura's connection to one of the corpses, dropping it to the ground as if the strings of a marionette left its body.]
'Death'. Everything comes to an end, whether it's living or not. I can see the weakness and frailty in anything. I can kill it whether it's magic or just a rock, a human or a demon--
[As if he saw right through Kagura, he took one step forward, stepping shakily--not out of fatigue or pain, but because of the death he saw under his feet. In Shiki's world, everything was constantly falling apart.]
I can even see the death in that second soul in you.
no subject
Death? Second soul? He couldn't be...talking about that, though, could he. With a new found source of anger amidst her confusion, she simply yells.]
Apologizing won't save your life!
[And another barrage of tornadoes head for him.]
[not here]
Just like these two idiots, to get into a brawl.
But she is not particularly fond of either, and she knows they're only going to get resurrected anyway... so she'll stay out of it, for now.]
1/2 (hopefully this is okay!)
At 1003, Shiki feels like she finally has the chance to sit down; and when she does, she decides to turn on her tablet. She's sort of gotten into the habit of checking it, since it seems like that's the only way she'll get info on what's going on... and she's even started replying a little to the people who post.
Bit by bit, she's getting more comfortable, though of course, there's no way she could have predicted what would happen in this particular feed. When the tablet drops, she jerks back a bit in surprise -- and when the screen cuts out, she's that much more alarmed.
That was... weird. That guy had been attacked...?!]
2/2
That's her next line of thought, so imagine her surprise when she sees him walk right through the door.]
?!
[She jumps up in surprise. Probably the last thing she'd been expecting -- so unfortunately, her initial response isn't very coherent.]
It's... It's you!
no subject
Pausing, he opened his mouth briefly, only really speaking after Misaki's initial reaction.]
It's me. [It felt better to talk rather than swing his knife. This was less comfortable and easy to him, but it yielded better results.] Do I actually have a roommate, now?
[He had a depleted looking expression, his glasses tucked in his breast pocket for later use. Really, it didn't matter if he wore them or not. Simply for the sake of appearances, Tohno pulled his glasses on and gave the young lady a little less dead and vacant stare.]
My name is Shiki.
no subject
[Shiki picked up another shard of glass and threw it into a blade of wind coming close to him. In the next step, he advanced and killed the last twisted before one of the corpses came close to him. With indifference, Shiki stabbed his index finger into one of its eyes and its line of death, causing it to deteriorate rapidly and turn to dust with exceptional speed.
With that, came Shiki's next move and Kagura's next host of twisters. He killed the two closest, finding the third too large to properly advance on, but that was fine enough. Rushing directly into it, Shiki hurled himself up along a wall with the wind's momentum, scaling it with his hands at feet at once. As a spider crawled, Shiki rushed through the air and along the wall to intercept Kagura's feather, his knife drawn.
His hollow eyes were set on he as he poised to catch her off guard.]
Action
I see you changed your mind about not wanting to make friends.
[To Kagura and obviously sarcastic.]
no subject
Why don't you just go away! Do you want to die too?
no subject
action!
Instead, he'd hurried out of the clinic and into the city itself, fiddling with his own tablet for a while. He's still pretty slow with this thing, but somewhere around here is a setting for discovering the location of a post... ah, there. He starts out quickly, aided by magically-enhanced steps, and makes it on the scene... well, a little late. He only sees one of the combatants. ]
Hey! [ Well, one's better than nothing. He hurries toward Kagura. ] Are you alright?
no subject
...Her jaw does hang open though, hearing his name. She can't help it.]
Oh. My name's Shiki, too! Um... [No need to get excited now, no need to get excited --] Shiki Misaki. And I was just assigned here a couple days ago, so...
Yeah. Heh, I guess you do.
[Smiling, she grabs Mr. Mew who's been sitting nearby, and waves his arms a bit as a greeting.]
no subject
This isn't the first time I've fought wind magic.
no subject
Guess I should have expected it. [Shiki spoke a little more softly than he would have liked. As he stepped in through the door, he could feel pain settling in on him much more readily before, but he still did his best to look as normal as possible. It had been his hope to collapse in the doorway, but he could at least try and make it to his bed, first.]
Are you Japanese? [It sounded like a dumb question on his part, he thought. She had a japanese name, but he couldn't have imagined anyone would look anymore European or American than that.]

Had it not been for a bloodcurdling scream coming from Kagura. In pain, she tried to struggle, pulling her arm away from him as her eyes widened and became bloodshot, pain searing from every point in her body.]
STOP!
no subject
[Thankfully, Kagura didn't look hurt. There were no wounds, nothing even suggesting that she had been in a fight of physical sorts. But, from the look of the girl who was just laying in a crumpled heap on the ground, barely responding to the man standing over her.
She just wanted the pain to stop.But...it wasn't going away. It was there, constantly, searing through every bone in her body and piercing every thought.]

no subject
It was only natural that pushing on someone's 'death' would hurt like hell.]
But, if you try and kill me, I have to respond. Despite that, I don't want to kill you. I'm not sure if this alternative is worse or not.
no subject
no subject
Yeah, I can tell you... Being a monster isn't all that great.
[He left her, the broken ribs he earned from that climb up the tornado not bothering him just as yet, but he'd certainly remember them in awhile.]
no subject
...She's got a question to answer, anyways.]
Yeah, that's right. From Shibuya, to be more specific. [She gives a nod. It's just too bad their origins don't seem to matter all that much here, but... she'll ask him in return anyway:]
How... about you?
no subject
Misaki, actually. [He stopped, keeping himself from leaning against something by diverting his path to the kitchen. He didn't keep anything in there, really, when he essentially lived by himself. There had only ever been bottled water, which he opened up the refrigerator to look for.]
I don't think I've ever been to Shibuya.

[Man, coincidences everywhere. Her face lights up for a moment again in surprise at hearing the name; but it quickly melts back into a smile. She watches as he opens up the refrigerator -- mentally scolding herself for not thinking of it first. She could've gotten the water for him...
Bah. So much for good first impressions. But she supposes it could be worse.]
I haven't been to Misaki, so that sort of makes us even.
[Heh! She just pauses there for a moment; though she isn't expecting much of a response to that, so she goes on easily:]
But um... are you okay?
no subject
I'm just a little sore. I'm still not used to training. [He lied with ease, pulling off his jacket and shutting the refrigerator with his foot. Drinking the water without raising it too high--knowing that stretching his ribs too far would be pain enough to wince, Shiki fixed his glasses with the tip of the bottle.]
It can't be said that we're allowed to slack.
no subject
no subject
That's true.
[Training, huh...?]
So that's what it was all about, then... it looked like she caught you a bit off guard, though.
[Not that she really caught a good look at Kagura, but still.]
no subject
It was a prank. Nothing you need to worry about. [Though, he certainly did. If he didn't give her a real reason to kill him before, he definitely did just then. With a measure of calmness, he could trudge past it, but how many attempts on his life could he deal with before she went to the effort of killing more and more people to get to him?]
Admittedly, I think I should sleep it off.
no subject
She simply keeps the curiosity to herself, as perks up a bit, looking surprised.]
Oh, duh -- (Shiki, you're kind of an idiot.) Yeah, of course! Go ahead... I- I didn't mean to keep you or anything.
[A pause. She glances over towards the bedroom doors... more specifically the one door she hadn't been able to open, before turning back to him.]
You won't even know I'm here.
no subject
I wouldn't worry about it. I'm probably going to sleep straight through the morning pretty easy. [He swung his door open and all the pain showed on his face the moment he was looking away from Misaki.]
no subject
It's alright, I've got you. You're going to be fine.
no subject
I hope so.
[...he's turned away from her now, but, she continues nevertheless:]
I'll probably be staying in tonight too, so... if anything comes up, don't be afraid to let me know.
[A girl's gotta pull her own weight, after all. She'd like to do her part to help.]
