Just- about an hour ago. [ He rubs at his eyes again stupidly, because he's wearing a mask and it's not like Batwoman would have noticed at all if he hadn't drawn attention to it with the gesture. ]

I knew something was wrong. There's no way he would have been caught in this if something hadn't happened to him first. There was a reason he couldn't get away.

[ He huffs out an angry breath, shaking a few rain droplets off his hair. ]

And now there's somebody saying they were with him the whole time? And they never said anything, not to his friends, or... or to anybody? Nothing's adding up like it should.
